Generator Room

Daryl's POV

Looking at the the generator I make a noise

"What is it" I hear the man who followed me say

"It looks like maybe we can take the small amounts of energy left in the other generators, and possibly use it to give this one more time" I say looking around at the others

"That's good to hear" he says

"Yeah so I'll get working on this, have nothing better to do anyway" I say, in a more annoyed voice than I mean to.

"Feeling like the odd man out as well huh" he says

Turning I look at him, dressed in a white shirt, black pants and his badge on his waist

"It must kill you, that your on the same level as the rest of us now" I say with an acid tone

"Not really, I just am trying to get to know you, you know more than the rap sheet, you and your brother have in New York" he says

I make a face, and look at him up and down, and than I recognize him as the beat cop that took me and my brother in, while doing some "trading" there

"Mahoney, shit you've gone up in the world" I say chuckling.

"Yeah and now it's all gone" He says angrily and sits on one of the generators

"I'm sorry man, I'm just in a mood. Did your family make it out"

He looks at me, probably wondering how I knew about his personal life. Merl always thought it important to find out everything about everyone, not me so much.

He looks like he's about to ask than drops it and just answers

"No, but Foggy Nelson he did but I'm not sure where he ended up" he says solemnly

"The lawyer guy? Damn and here I thought you'd be with Frank Castle.

He looks at me with a face and rolls his eyes.

"No, he may be hot but I really started to feel something for Foggy after my family died.. and than we got separated. I'm hoping one of the homeland copters found him" he says looking down at the floor

I shuffle not knowing what to say

"What about you?"

"I'm a loner"

"I saw how you were looking at that Rick and Shane" he says looking into my eyes

I look away "and to them I'm invisible" I say and start looking for tools. Jumping a little when I feel a hand on my shoulders

"Daryl I always knew you were different from Merl, and you deserve happiness. You should tell them. They don't look like they mind multi people relationships. And if you ask me that Lori woman didn't look interested in either of them" Mahoney says from behind me

My first instinct is to rebuttal but decide against it and take the tools down.

For awhile the two of us look around in silence for anything that we can use to get the job done.

"If this Foggy guy has somehow made it to Georgia.. we will find him" I say breaking the silence.

"Thank you.. and please think about talking to Rick and Shane. They'd be good for you" he says patting my shoulder again.
