Piano - Ariana Grande
There was a meteor shower tonight. I had been waiting for this moment for so long! To finally see those beautiful things fly through the sky was something I had always wanted to see. Also, it was my birthday. Also, my parents got tickets to a convention. Also, the Ninja are going to be there.
And also, it was so hard to contain my happiness. I was also performing at the convention. Part of the reason my parents bought the tickets. I was originally supposed to just perform for the people coming to the convention, but now I can meet the Ninja, too!
This was possibly the best day ever. I was doing everything I was passionate about. I was singing, I was able to watch the stars, and I got to meet the Ninja! I mean, I wasn't doing the Ninja...I was just meeting them.
The thought made my ears burn red. I shifted in my seat, fiddling with the seat belt as we pulled up to the convention. I had never seen any place as hectic as this. There were people in costumes buzzing around, the colors of the Ninja falling from the sky in the form of confetti, big banners hung everywhere.
My stomach flipped as I saw people scanning their tickets. I wasn't quite sure if I was ready or not to meet the Ninja. Or maybe I was ready to meet the Ninja, just not Cole. Just thinking of him made me swoon.
I had run this moment so many times in my head and I had everything planned out perfectly. We would greet each other, I'd fall harder for him and I'd hope that he'd fall for me, too. And in that scenario, he did, and he was kind and caring and he wanted me to be his and everything worked out perfectly.
My dad pulled up to a parking spot and I clicked open my seat belt. I took the handle of my door into my fingers and yanked it open, hoping it didn't look like I was too eager.
"Y/n!" My dad called as I exited the car.
I rolled my eyes, turning around and groaning. "Yes?" I snapped, hoping that the line wasn't getting too long.
"Your ticket," he said, raising an eyebrow.
My cheeks flushed red with embarrassment. I guess I was a bit eager...
"Thanks," I smiled, taking the ticket.
"Go line up, sweetie," my mom said, leaning out her window and placing a sweet kiss on my forehead. "We'll go find some seats for your performance. You can meet us there."
"Okay," I grinned.
My mom blinked away tears that were forming in her eyes. "Oh," she clicked her tongue sweetly, "my baby is a big star now." She exclaimed, pulling me closer and smacking more kisses all over my face.
"Okayokayokayokay-" I pushed her off, muttering a quiet I love you before taking off. I broke into a light jog to get ahead of a few people so I could get a good spot in line.
I tapped my foot as more and more people scanned their tickets, the line moving up. When it was my turn, I shoved the ticket in the man's face by accident.
"Sorry. I'm just a bit excited," I apologized.
"Ah, it's alright. Not the first time it's happened. Although you are the first one to apologize about it. Who you here to see?"
"Well, I mean I don't want to be rude or anything to the rest of the Ninja, and I don't want to seem like I'm obsessing over one of them, but I probably said too much and I'm here to see Cole." I scrunched my nose up. I've been repeating the same words so much today because I can't find the right words and language is so frustrating and-
"Really? You're not here to see me?" The man grinned. I glanced up from the table where he was sitting and I realized this was the first time I caught the man's face. He was dressed as Kai, the Ninja of Fire. His suit was quite authentic. As I stared closer, I began to recognize the familiar scar slicing through his left eye. It was Kai.
My eyes flashed wide. "Kai?!"
He laughed, pulling his mask off. "You're the only one who noticed. I've been sitting here for an hour and everyone has just gone past."
"Why're you here?"
"Because I wanted to see if people are fake. You know, like how people are disrespectful and stuff to other people. I found a lot of those people. Arrogant. Anyway, your reward for your lack of arrogance is - well I don't have a reward but have a good day. Here's your wristband. Good luck with Cole." Kai smiled and stood up, the crowd gasping as he walked away, another man taking his spot.
Wow. Not a bad start. I scratched my cheek, smiling at myself as I passed on to the doors, wandering through. I flashed my band at the guards. They nodded and let me pass into the building.
Biting my lip, I began wandering through the massive building, looking for where the Ninja were.
I exhaled as I looked up at everyone. Then, through the corner of my eye, the place appeared. The tables, the cameras, the people, the Ninja. My heart nearly jumped out of my rib cage. I began walking towards my dream.
I smiled shoving past people who cut me off. I found my place in line - there he was.
Cole Hence Brookstone. He looked half asleep as he yawned, dropping his head in his hands and running a hand through his hair. He signed something for a teenage girl without a single glance at her face, then returned to his nap.
Then it was suddenly my turn. I ran a hand through my hair, tugging at my shirt, fiddling with my wristband.
Cole ran a hand down his face, resting his forehead on his left hand a looked up at me. "You want me to sign something or what?" He snapped.
