Nadia went home after running into the fucking Ace of Hearts!! She was so ecstatic that she cleaned the entire apartment from top to bottom then got to work on her homework. It was insane what a little adrenaline from meeting an actual celebrity (ok not a celebrity but she was on the news a lot) could do to a kid.

By the time it was 9 PM, she was tired as hell. Normally she'd wake up around nine but her entire brain was out of whack. Nadia was knocked out by 10 PM.

She woke up at a very out of character 7 AM. The sun was shining through the kitchen window and Nadia couldn't help but watch in awe. She'd never been able to do such a simple task. Watching the sunrise was always out of the question. And now she could finally appreciate one sunrise.

The prospect of doing so was unusually exhilarating for Nadia. Normally the thing that got her blood pumping was hitting a pigeon from 50 meters away. Nothing so... mundane made her smile so widely.

It was like seeing for the first time. The only thing is Nadia wished her dad was there to see it with her. She couldn't help but take a photo of the sun with her cellphone and send it to her father.

- First time seeing a real sunrise, it's prettier than I expected. Thanks dad. Tell whoever made them I love them /j <3

She always put a silly "<3" at the end of her messages, it was easier than typing out that she loved her dad every time.

She wanted to talk to someone but Matt was the only person she knew outside of her father. That frustrated her a lot. And Matt probably wouldn't want to hear about how great it was to see the world. He's already frequently grumpy when she complains about her shitty vision normally.

"Least you can see at all, Nadia."

He'd say and then she would feel guilty for bringing it up at all.

"Fucking hate math," Nadia grumbled to herself as she refreshed the Brainly page to catch a glimpse at the answer, it showed and blinked away in an instant. She groaned loudly and laid her head on the desk, the urge to bang it on the wood was tempting.

But the ringing of her phone brought her attention elsewhere.

"Hello?"

Her dad was on the other line, she could hear the smile on his face, "You got into the internship, Naddy!"

She couldn't help but jump up in surprise, "What? Are you for real?!"

"Yea! I just got the email! They're gonna be calling you to do an informal interview around 12 PM tomorrow, okay? So make sure you've got your phone volume on." He ordered, knowing how often Nadia would put the sound on vibrate.

"Yea, yea, it's on. I picked up, didn't I?"
He sighed, "You're an ass. They said they sent an email to you too, apparently there are examples of what they might ask you."

"Oh, okay. That's neat."

"You sound annoyed," She explained that she was doing her math work, "Won't have to do any of that in about a week's time." That thought made a smile grow on her face, "Okay, I gotta go, be good?"

"I'm always good, I love you!"

He chuckled, "Sure you are, love you too, bye."

Nadia hung up with a stupid smile on her face. She had to break the news to Matt, he was the only other person she could tell anyway.

She got to Matt's apartment quickly, in less than 20 minutes which was her best time yet. Jumping from rooftops was dangerous but so efficient. She hopped onto the fire escape outside his window and cringed when it shook violently.

"I really don't like the idea of dying like this." She pushed her hands against the window and glanced around the inside of the apartment, it was dark–as usual–but it seemed strangely empty. Nadia looked at the watch on her wrist, it was convenient–but so annoying. She was out so much that she needed to have the time on her constantly.

Sometimes her phone was too bright (even with the dimmer screen). "Is this man ever home during the day?" Nadia sighed and made her way down the fire escape. "Guess I'll have to do a job call."

Nadia really liked walking around during the day, it was so different. She didn't understand how anyone could get bored of looking at things.

Using handy Google Maps, she found the law firm in no time. "Nelson & Murdock, Attorneys at Law. How professional." She then began the grueling walk up the stairs. "Of course the elevator is broken."

Luckily she was (somehow) still riding the high of having been accepted into the internship. She made quick work of the two flights of stairs and knocked on the door loudly.

"Sir Murdock, I require an audience." Luckily there weren't any clients inside because Matt's annoyed expression made her cringe. "Hey..." She elongated the word awkwardly while stepping inside the small office. "Oh, hey Foggy!"

Foggy looked confused for a second before a smile broke out on his face, "Nadia! Hey kid! How's your shoulder?"

She flexed her arms, "Good as new," He offered his fist and she bumped hers against it with a smirk. "Matt," Nadia turned around and he still looked irritated. "Look happy to see me, please? I have good news."

"This news better be really good,"

"You're so mean, Matt. She's just a kid." Foggy protested, pointing his bagel at her.

Nadia made a sound of agreement, "If you could see my face and how cute I am, you'd die."

Matt scoffed at the two, "You guys are horrible." They laughed at Matt's sour expression. "Well what's the news?"

She stood in front of them, Matt leaned on the desk and Foggy ate a bagel, "I–"

"Wait, Karen's coming up, let her hear."
It was Nadia's turn to scowl, "You just rushed me and now I have to wait?"

"Be nice," He warned and Nadia couldn't help the godawful snicker she let out.

It only took Karen a few minutes to finally make it inside the office, "Oh, hey... Na.. Nad.. Nadeea?" Karen grimaced, knowing she remembered wrong. "I am so sorry."

Nadia laughed it off, "No worries, I'm in too good of a mood."

"Huh, that's different from how Matt describes you." Karen says, setting her things down.

The teenager shot him a glare, "Matt's got a shitty imagination." Nadia clapped her hands, "Remember that internship I told you about, sweet Murdock?" He nodded, "Well..." Nadia drummed her hands on her thighs and smiled brightly, "I got in!"

The three adults before her cheered, Foggy was arguably the loudest but he was always supportive of everyone.

"That's awesome, kid!" He clapped her on the shoulder, "What about a celebratory lunch?" Foggy offered, "We can stop by my parents' store!"

"I do miss the meatball subs," Karen said. "Congrats, Nadia." She hugged Nadia into her side and the younger girl grinned. "What's the internship for anyway?"

Matt answered for Nadia, "She's going to be working in the Avengers Tower, something about being too stupid for STEM classes."

"Hey, Murdock, you're on thin ice."

"I'm so frightened," He joked, a knowing smirk growing on his face, "Come on you three, lets eat before she kills me."

Foggy chuckled, "That's the first good idea you've had all day, man."

"Matthew Murdock sentenced to death by meatball sub!"
