personality; arturia is a strong-willed woman, she is courageous, while she may be closed off and isolated from her knights and does not socialize with them, she has a good sense of moral compass. arturia's identity as a "king" is often a struggle, she hates being treated as a lesser because of her honor as a knight, so she concealed her true gender. arturia is loyal, independent and reserved, she may seem cold at times but she is merely suppressing her emotions to focus on her goals. she regrets her life as a king.

background/history; arturia was born in the dark ages, she was born as the heir to the throne, but her father desired a son to fulfill the prophecy, so she was left to merlin, who placed her in the care of sir ector, where she was raised as a child of a mere knight. on the day of the prophecy, none of the knights could lift the sword in the stone, artoria, only an apprentice, had not hesitated to reach for the sword, but before she could grasp it, merlin had warned her, "becoming a king means no longer being human",

but she ignored his warning and pulled the sword from the stone,

and thus, she stopped aging at fifteen when she pulled caliburn from the stone. arturia led britain from camelot and had many knights under her, like the knights of the round table. artoria eventually married guinevere because it was obligated, even if lancelot and guinevere were in love.

arturia needed to act as the son of a king, even if some people suspected her, only merlin and kay knew of her true identity and gender. but eventually came her downfall, she strictly kept to the oath that a king is not human and cannot protect the people with human emotions, and because of that, her own knights said, "king arthur does not understand human emotions",

they felt that a human without emotion could not rule others, resulting in many esteemed knights leaving camelot. despite her valiant efforts, arturia was mortally wounded at the battle of camlann at the hand of a traitorous knight named mordred, her dying body was escorted to a holy isle by sir bedivere, as she lay dying and sir bedivere grieving, arturia ordered him to return excalibur to the lady of the lake.
