Author's Note:

This is probably the base of Rayne's new tattoo. It should be completely black and they shouldn't connect under the palm. Other than that, that's her tattoo. Any other ideas on how her tattoo should look like? Let me know! =)

After the incident with Amanda, I go to the principal's office and she gives me a new schedule. My eyes are back to normal and I put on a black jacket that I had put in my locker to cover the marking in my hand. Now,-- after the last bell rang-- I am going to my locker. I open it and grab some of my notebooks to take home and find my old schedule with something written on it. The blue cursive writing is a nice contrast with the black Arial font.

It says: "I know I kept your schedule, but I used it for the better. I have some good news for you. Amanda got suspended because someone complained about her attitude. Oh, and remember, you're my new tutor. So tell me when we can meet up for tutoring sessions.

~Haiden"

On the bottom is written his cellphone number. Amanda got suspended? Someone complained? Yes!!!

I smile at the note like a complete idiot and stuff it in my pocket. I take the notebooks and shove them in my bag, walking out of the school building. I walk up to my car and hear someone call my name.

"Rayne! Rayne, wait!" Jonah is running up to meet me at the car. Instinctively, I tug my jacket's sleeve so it covers up my wrist a little better.

"Hey Jonah." I say. "What's up?"

"Hey." He says and smiles. He scratches the back of his neck. Is he nervous? "Yeah, well, I came here to apologize."

I lean against my car and cross my arms in front of me, disbelief noticeable on my face. "What for?"

"I should have warned you sooner about Amanda. I should have told you when I saw her walking to our table." He says and lowers his head in disappointment.

It wasn't his fault. "It isn't your fault that Amanda belongs in a straightjacket and not a cheerleading uniform." I say and smile at him.

"I still should have warned you."

"It's not your fault, Jonah. Don't be so hard on yourself."

"I'm not going to make that mistake again." He continues as if I hadn't said anything. Again? I let that slide.

"So, I see you know Haiden." He says, changing the subject. That's not normal for Jonah, he never changes subject like that. Then I notice his face twisting into an expression of pure hatred.

"Yeah, he's the first person I bumped into from school." Literally.

"I don't like him. He's got a bad reputation in school." He says.

"He's not that bad." I say.

"Rayne, he's been suspended three times in this school year alone. He's harmed students and that get in his way. He has temperamental issues." He says, crossing his arms in front of his chest. The wind blows and it messes his already disheveled hair even more, but he doesn't seem to mind.

"Just because you dislike him doesn't mean I have to." I say and glare at him. He stares at me and our gazes lock. He just met me and he wants to play the "big brother".

I turn and open my car. When I am inside I think I hear him whisper, "Someday you'll see why I really dislike him." I guess I wasn't supposed to hear that. What is it with whispering at the last minute and this school?!
