Year 7's

Although everyone hates to admit it, we were all those tiny, annoying, squeaky, enthusiastic little creatures which roamed, sorry sprinted, down the corridors at one point. With backpacks big enough for hiking which looked as if they could swallow an 11 year old up and colourful new pencil cases with some fancy new trend such as little koala bear rubbers or bendy rulers or good old rainbow loom bands. That used to be us.

At one point we were also, or will soon be, the big old year 11's towering over the little squirts. Spotty, smelly and miserable. Well I guess not all year 11's are like that but it's the stereo type we get.

Either way both years are arch enemies. But one thing that has changed? The confidence! In year 7 I wouldn't dare give a stare to a full grown 16 year old, but now! They think they can walk all over us, squeaking insults at us and pushing past as if they've got somewhere to be - they haven't. The stairs are the worst. You'll step out of your class and suddenly you are swarmed with some buzzing little humans excited for their next physics class. Ew physics.. I'll get onto that at some point. WHY were we so excited for classes? Must be because our vulnerable selves don't control our own minds at that age so teachers take the opportunity to try a trap us and teach us something before we finish for the year. They all know it doesn't last, I just wish I knew.

There's always that one year 7 who pokes a tiny hole in a water bottle lid and squirts our lemonade from it, all sticky and they don't realise how wrong it looks.

There's always one year 7 two feet smaller than everyone else who doesn't look like they are old enough to be there.

And always one year 7 who goes out with ever boy/girl in the school. Every day a new poor boy/girl in their Instagram bio which reads, "my absolute word forever and always🌎🌍💗". I mean I haven't even figured out love yet, there's no way in hell a titchy year 7 could.

Well I think I should stop here for now before my rant goes on for years.

That's year 7's covered.
