Clary Fairchild was always protected by Mayla Stonehart. In her years of growing up, she was always told to make sure the daughter of a dead man was always by her side. It's all she knew.

Years of hiding her true identity made Mayla as paranoid as they come. She lived in fear every day, looking over her shoulder every other minute. Preying they were never found by the Circle.

But everything changes when she finds Clary bumping into a tatted blonde outside a club on the day of the girl's 18th birthday. Mayla and her best friends get thrown back into the Shadow World where monsters roam the night and angelic hunters keep the peace and protect humans.

Meeting new friends and using all the skills she was taught. She saw the opportunity to do something good. When the world, she thought she loved, starts to move too fast, she falls behind.

All of her childhood was spent being lied to, manipulated, and controlled, so when her past comes back to haunt her she tries her best to find answer.

I do not own the Shadowhunter series or any of its characters. I only own Mayla and her backstory. All other rights got to Cassandra Clare and Freeform, the people responsible for making such a wonderful story come to life.
