'And this is what I call life.'
Martial thought as he smiled, satisfied at the long work he did. The papers are finish and he also ate breakfast but then he saw the bag of caramel candies in one of the cup boards. He kept them hidden because to him, it was his most precious, the only sweet he enjoys eating. He popped another piece in his mouth and savored the taste. He looked at the plastic bag and frowned. Only one left. He felt pity for downing all of it in one go...
He ate it.
Oh well, it's the last one anyway. He stopped chewing when he heard a knock from the door. He immediately hid the bag and sat straight up. He took a deep breath with a serious face waiting for them to walk in.
The door creaked open. Captain Undyne walked in and closed the door behind her. She walked forward a little and saluted.
"Sir, good morning, sir."
Martial saluted back and started to sign language.
'What brings you here?'
"Well... I suppose you must have heard about the attack in Plantation Three?"
Martial nodded.
"The King requested your presence in the interrogation room."
Martial was confused as he was not directly involve nor does he have any job regarding the plantations.
'For what purpose?'
"He wants you to be present for the interrogation of the suspect."
Martial doesn't want to question it further and sighed soundlessly. He slid down his chair and landed at the floor gracefully. He adjusted his cap before looking at Undyne once again.
'Is there anything else?'
"I believe I said every detail, Major." Undyne said.
Martial walked forward towards the doors.
"Martial"
He stopped about half way to reaching the door and only turning his skull to look at Undyne who was giving her a worried look. He knew what that look meant even her calling him by his name without a title. She was trying to relive the past.
"You've changed..."
Martial stayed silent. He was speechless and can't seem to find any words or explanation at this. He turned his gaze to the doors and proceeded to walk and leave her behind.
Undyne sighed and looked at the classy room. There was no signs of Martial's past and it made Undyne upset. The child changed drastically once he was inside the military. She never expected him to surpass her nor ignore her and kept moving forward. If... she wasn't careless back then they... she could still be alive but... Undyne looked grimly. She remembered the young major's face back then.
Tear-stained face and grief clouded eye lights. She could almost hear his cries of ire towards the once who killed his adoptive mother. Yet, you will found no trace of this now.
