The dropship rattled incessantly as its engines propelled it forwards at maximum speed. You sat in the passenger bay, nervously fiddling with your pulse rifle, checking its magazine and whatnot. The last thing you wanted in this battle was a jam.

Alongside you sat Olivia, who was surfing the net with a purple hologram, doubtless trying to distract herself from the situation you were entering. Also sat in your shuttle, as well as numerous other soldiers, were Jack and Jesse. Similarly, to you, Jack obsessively checked his weapon, cleaning it twice a minute just in case. Jesse, meanwhile, simply did tricks with his revolver, spinning it around his finger with a confident grin.

There were twelve shuttles identical to this, flying in formation across the Atlantic Ocean now, and you were only the initial strike team. The Volskaya Svyatogor mechs were being carried via cables attached to the underside of Chinook helicopters, and the main force held back, escorting these colossal machines of war.

Your job was to break through the huge metal doors of the hangars and penetrate the underground section of the base. If possible, you would also hunt down the Talon leaders and send them to an early grave. You were the first strike, the iron fist that would punch straight through Talon's defences, making way for the army to follow.

"Attention. At current speed, dropship will arrive at Site Hotel Zulu in...four minutes" Athena reported, causing you to take a deep breath.

Four minutes, four minutes and you would see if all of your fears were founded or not.

"Alright men, you heard her. Double check your weapons now, you won't have time when Talon are trying to shoot your heads off. Overwatch, IDC, Volskaya Industries...we're a strange collection, but we're all soldiers and this is what we signed up for. There's some evil men hiding beneath that jungle and we're gonna flush them out...am I understood?" Jack questioned, pacing up and down the passenger bay as he made his little speech.

Once he finished, he was met with some enthusiastic cheers from the soldiers. He glanced towards you, and you nodded your head silently. Olivia tapped you on the shoulder, making you turn around and face her.

"This is it, Y/N. Fight well...and don't die, sí?" she remarked, giving you a quick peck on the cheek.

You nodded your head with a smile.

"Same to you, cariño" you responded.

The dropship shook violently, and the white lights turned off, replaced by the emergency red ones.

"We're riding into heavy fire...the enemy have this approach pre-sighted for AA fire!" the pilot shouted, as a multitude of explosions suddenly filled the air.

"Keep going! Get us as close to the entrance as you can...deploy your missiles!" Jack shouted, moving into the cockpit, and leaning over the pilot's seat.

"Hold on. Deploying missiles...TOT six seconds. Missiles away" the pilot reported, clicking a button on his flight sticks.

A dozen missiles shot forwards, arcing downwards towards the Talon military base.

"Verify. Did they hit the target? Are we through the front door?" Jack questioned.

A steel-titanium door built into the ground was the only way down to the underground facility that you knew of, if you couldn't breach that then you were finished before you started.

"Standby. Scanning with the thermal camera...yes! There's a breach!" the pilot answered.

Twelve missiles had managed to make a five by five metre hole in the enormous hangar doors, it wasn't much, but you would have to make do. Jack turned back to your passenger bay, where the rest of you were eagerly awaiting news.
