It was mid-morning when Steve woke up and rolled over. The clock on his nightstand read nine a.m., he still had another hour before he had to be to work. Steve rubbed the sleep from his eyes as he squinted in the morning sunlight, rolling over to be met with the sight of Billy sleeping peacefully next to him; cuddled up into Steve's side. He smiled at the sight, Billy's soft curls golden in the sunlight, a few draped across his forehead. His face was peaceful, his back lifting up and down each time he took a breath as he slept on his stomach.

His cheek was squished slightly against his pillow, his breath hitting Steve's arm, his head mere inches from Steve's body. His lips were parted slightly, Steve loved how soft they looked. His bare skin was tanned and shining, and Steve couldn't help but beam in admiration. The love Steve had for the sleeping boy shone out of eyes. He ran his fingers gently down Billy's arm softly, before looking out the window. He could feel Billy's heartbeat, and it calmed him, an unexplainable calm that only Billy could give him.

Steve looked back down at Billy, mindlessly caressing his arm, and the boy's eyes fluttered open; revealing a stunning ocean blue. But it was only for a second, before he shut them again, deciding it was not time to wake up.

"Fucking creep", Billy muttered sleepily, his eyes still closed.

"What did you say?", Steve asked, smiling.

"You're a fucking creep", Billy repeated, squinting up at him through one eye. He snuggled more into Steve's side, his arm draping over Steve's waist;
"watching me sleep."

Steve laughed at this; Billy was a romantic sap no doubt, but he still tried to deny it.
"I can't help it, you're just so beautiful baby", Steve comments.
"Oh am I now?" Billy asks, still not opening his eyes.
"Yes you are, and I love you", Steve says.

And at that, Billy finally opens his eyes, sitting up completely and cuddling into Steve, feeling his even breaths against his body; because Billy couldn't resist Steve, especially when he complimented him; especially when he said those three words.
"I love you too", Billy says, his eyes wandering over Steve's face, before landing on his lips, and leaning in for a kiss.

Steve pulls Billy into him, stroking the blonde's curls lightly, their heartbeats and breathing syncing in a perfect rhythm. It was only a few minutes later that Steve saw the time; nine thirty, which meant they both had to get up for work.

"Baby", Steve says, rubbing Billy's back gently.
"Hmm?"
"We have to get up, we're gonna be late."
"For what?"
"Work", Steve says, laughing at his boyfriends sleepy confusion.

Billy groans as Steve sits up, forcing him to sit up to. He resorted to going dead weight on top of Steve, making him use extra force to lift Billy up and off of him.
"Billy come on, we've gotta get up. We can't be late", Steve says, after he's standing, Billy laying flat on the bed, his legs swung over the side.
"I don't want to", Billy protests.

Steve leans overtop of Billy, his face above his, and he smiles.
"Come on, get up and I've got a surprise for you later, deal?", Steve says. Billy smirks.
"You're tough to say no to, Harrington."
And with that, Steve presses a kiss to Billy's lips before hurrying off to get dressed.

They meet again at the front door, telling each other goodbye with a quick kiss, and Steve gets in his car and drives to work.

When he reaches Scoops, there's no one there except Robin, and it's then he realizes she still doesn't know about him and Billy, and he rushes into the back.

"You're happy today", Robin comments.
"Hmm, I wonder what it could possibly be?"
"I dunno dingus, give me a hint."

"Ok. I either a, took the kids to the pool this weekend, b, learned pig latin so I can understand it when you talk it..." Steve starts, and he leans up against the counter before smiling.

"Or c...Billy and I confessed our feelings for each other", and Robin's head whips up towards him, a smile spreading across her face.

"Are you serious?" She asks. Steve nods happily, Robin embracing him quickly.
"Tell me everything!"
And Steve does, he tells her how it happened, he tells her how amazing Billy is, he tells her about every amazing moment they've had together in that past few weeks, and he tells her how absolutely in love he is.

They make plans to have Robin over soon so she can get to know Billy, and then work resumes as normal. The day droned on, and Steve found himself missing Billy, and finding pieces of him in everything. He saw his blue eyes in a girl's scrunchie, his hair in everything yellow, and his smile, in every kind thing he saw.

But finally, after a long day, his shift ended, and he could home. But he decided against that, and instead he drove to the community pool to surprise Billy.

When he got there, he parked far enough away that Billy couldn't see or hear him, and walked up to the gate, where he saw Billy picking up the last of pool toys, and fixing chairs. Steve walked in, standing next to the lifeguard chair when Billy turned around and beamed.

"Pretty boy? What are you doing here?", he asked surprised as he walked over to Steve, kissing him sweetly on the lips.
"I wanted to surprise you, drive you home, show you another surprise that's waiting there, just make you feel happy. You do so much for me, I wanted to return the favor", Steve says.

Billy's smile just gets wider as he stares into Steve's eyes, and then wanders his face, before whispering out an "I love you so much", closing the gap between them again.

"I love you too", Steve says, his hand around Billy's waist, his fingers rubbing his back.
Billy couldn't keep his eyes off Steve, his pupils dilating every time he looked at him, and Steve's did the same.

"Let me just shower quick and we'll head out", Billy speaks again, intertwining Steve's fingers with his.
"Ok, you stink anyways."
"Oh do I?"
"Yeah you do, I could smell you from my car", Steve jokes, messing with Billy's wet from sweat hair.
"You're gonna get it Harrington", Billy says, picking him up by the waist, causing him to squeal, pounding lightly on Billy's back as he carried him.
"Put me down!" He protests.
"Nope"

And before Steve knows it, Billy's holding him bridal style over the pool, and he looks at him wide-eyed; "don't you dare", Steve says. But Billy just readjusts Steve in his arms, before swinging back carefully, and throwing Steve in the pool. The splash got Billy wet, but the look on Steve's face when he came back up made it worth it.

"I can't believe you did that", Steve pouted, standing underneath Billy at the edge of the pool.
Billy bent down, hovering over him;
"I'm sorry, baby", he says, mocking Steve's pout.
He leans in and kisses him, only to be then pulled into the pull by Steve, laughing when he comes back up, embracing his boyfriend, nothing but love in his eyes.

After they are both dried off and showered, they walk to the car, Steve sitting on the hood, and Billy standing in between his legs.
"Thank you for coming to get me, I missed you today", Billy says, pushing a strand of Steve's hair behind his ear.
"I missed you too, so much", Steve ponders, pulling Billy in closer, as if he couldn't get enough of him.
Their heart beats couldn't help but quicken when they were around each other, it was just an automatic thing, a symbol of how absolutely, crazily, in love they were with each other.

Billy guided Steve's face up towards his, his fingers underneath his chin, before pressing a soft and passionate kiss on his lips; both of them smiling widely when they pulled away.
"Come on, i've got something for you", Steve finally says, guiding them into the car, driving them off, ready to surprise Billy with the candle light dinner at home.
