The Gift

Kopa POV
It has been 4 months since Vitani and I returned with the lions and antivenom also since Vitani has been pregnant. Rafiki and Makini have said that the cub or cubs could come any day now. I couldn't be anymore excited. In the past few months I have spent most of my time with her. There have been many visitors checking up on her besides Rafiki and Makini. Mom and dad have come and visited, Tiifu and Zuri who were now dating Minio and Toka, Lova, Kion and Fuli as well as their cubs which is weird to say. I was in a deep sleep.

In the Kopa's dream
I woke with start. I was alone in the middle of a field.
"Where am I" I said to myself.
"You are where I can speak with you".
I turned to see an older lioness
"Who are you".
"I was once the queen of the prides, now I live among the stars, it sure has been awhile Kopa you were but a cub when I saw you"
She knows me, maybe I there a connection. First was grandpa Mufusa...
"Grandma Sarabi".
"The one and only".
"Why are you talking to me".
"It's about your cub".
"What's wrong".
"Nothing bad, your cub is going to be give a special gift".
"What kind of gift like a baobab fruit".
She laughed
"You get your silliness from your father, but no more like what Kion has".
"What does Kion have".
"Has he not told you, he has the roar of the elders he blow away enemies with a single roar. Your Cubs wont be that but something like it. There is also another a different breed of animal will come and go on a journey with your cub. I can't discuss that now".
"My cub will be special".
"You will be a great dad" said Sarabi as she faded away.

I woke with a start for real this time. Vitani woke too.
"What's wrong Kopa".
"Nothing just a dream".
She smiled
"About what".
"Sarabi my grandma".
"You remember your grandma".
"No she spoke to me like Mufusa did".
"About".
"Our cub".
Vitani was more serious
"What's wrong, is something wrong, is our cub going to be okay" she said frantically.
I licked her face.
"Don't worry nothing bad, she said they would have a special gift".
"Like Kion".
"What is the elder roar".
"Well go ask him later it is better to see than picture". I looked down at Vitani's stomach which was larger now than it has been.
"Any day now and we will be parents" I said resting my chin on her side. She licked my cheek.
"I can't wait".
As the sun rose higher I bid Vitani goodbye for the day I had to discuss something's with some people. I passed Maniki on my way out.
"Maniki if something happens..."
"Don't worry Kopa I will send for you".
I head to my parents side of the cave.
"Ah Kopa you are up early" said Simba.
"Yeah I just wanted to talk to you guys".
"Sure go ahead" said Nala.
"Recently I have been in contact with Grandma and Grandpa... Mufusa and Sarabi".
They both sat up and looked my in the eyes.
"Really" said Simba.
"Yeah when Vitani and I were lost Mufasa appeared and reminded me that I knew the way and Sarabi came to me to tell me that our cub will a special gift like Kion's roar thing".
"It is special to speak to them Kopa, your passed long before you were born but you were only a cub before your grandma passed" said Simba.
"Your will be given a gift" said Nala.
"Yeah and they will join an a different species of animal and go on some journey".
"What about Kajor did they say anything about that".
"No".
"Well it sounds as though that journey is still awhile away".
"Hey where is Kion I want to ask him something".
"Fuli, Cheka, Hofu, Duma, Adolfo. And Him went out for his relaxing practice".
I headed up to the forest. I need to ask Kion about his roar.

Kion POV
"Alright kid sit in the vines like this" said Duma. He lay with back in vines and arms sprawled out. I did as he did but ended up falling on my back. Fuli, Hofu, and Cheka who were watching me laughed.
"Daddy is so clumsy" said Cheka.
"Yes Cheka he is" laughed Fuli.
I stood up, walked over to Cheka and playfully rubbed my paw on top of his head.
"Think that's funny" I said as Cheka laughed. Hofu looked up.
"Hey Undle Kopa".
"Hello Hofu".
"Hey Kopa" I said.
"Is Vitani alright" said Fuli.
"Yeah I just wanted to ask you something Kion".
"Sure what is it".
"Have our grandparents ever visited you".
"Yeah grandfather Mufasa has why".
"Grandma Sarabi came to me and told me that my cub will be born with a special gift like your roar thing".
I tensed a little. Hofu and Cheka looked at me.
"You have a special roar daddy" said Cheka.
"Show us" said Hofu.
"I haven't tried to roar in a long time".
"Come on daddy" said the cubs.
"Boys settle down" said Fuli.
They stopped.
"Come on Kopa I will show it to you".
"Are you sure Kion" said Fuli.
We walked to a clearing
"Kion why didn't you tell us you had a gift" said Duma.
"You don't have to show me Kion".
"It's fine" I firmly placed myvfeet on the ground. The clouds gathered and I released a large roar that blew the leaves off a couple trees. Kopa was shocked and the Cubs cheered with glee.
"That was cool" said Cheka.
"That was amazing" said Hofu.
Fuli nuzzled me. Duma ducked behind a log.
"That was basically the roar". Kopa was about speak when Kiara came up to us.
"Kopa...Kopa Vitani is having the cubs".
He took off.
"Come boys where going to go see your new cousin" said Fuli.
"You can come out now Duma and Adolf". They peered up from the log.

Kopa POV
I ran as fast as I could. A bunch of people waited outside our den but I ran inside. She lay in the corner flat on her side. She lifted her head and looked at me.
"Kopa...come meet...our daughter...Malaika" she said weakly. I walked over to her and licked her cheek. She nuzzled me. She lifted her paw to revealed a pale cream colored almost white cub. She looked up at us in happiness. I laid next to Vitani savoring this moment. Now I had a family.
