I woke up happier than ever.

I thought about yesterday.

I finally made a new friend.

Two new friends to be exact.

Over the course of a day, Nick and I became close.

I walked to my closet and I picked out an outfit for today.

I decided to wear my hair down today. It was curly.

I never wore my hair down. But today was the day I finally would.

I smiled to myself and looked in the mirror at how I looked.

I began to think to myself.

Maybe Nick was right.

I am beautiful.

I was interrupted when I got a text message from my new friend Alayna.

Alayna 🌸🥰❤️- Morning best, ill see you at school.

                        Me- morning Layna, see you 🖤

Layna was a nickname I gave her for short. I guess I got used to saying it nowadays.

Alayna and I grew close over the course of a few days also. But we weren't as close as Nick and I was.

I felt like I knew the both of them my whole life. I saw them both as brothers and sisters I've never had.

I kinda like Nick a little bit but I felt like he wouldn't like me back.

I understood because he had a reputation to keep up with at the school.

I didn't wanna ruin it for him. So I never told him.

Alayna and I walked into school together side by side.

We were walking and talking until some girl came up to us.

"Stay away from Nick you black bitch." The girl said.

I laughed. The first time I laughed at someone's pettiness.

I didn't care.

Call me whatever you want, you'll never see me break.

You see after what went down in elementary and basically half her life, you could say that she grew up and she's more mature.

I laughed and looked at her. I stepped up. " I don't know who you are calling a bitch. I don't even know you so please don't think you scare me."

I didn't know what came over me. But it felt ...... good.

I'm standing up to someone for the first time.

Before she said anything else I cut her off with a hand to her face.

I walked away and we made our way down the hallway again.

Alayna laughed and shook her head.

"You bold bold." She said. I laughed as we continued walking.

Nick ran up beside me and put an arm around me. "Sorry about her." He said. I smiled and nodded as we made it to our first class.
