Season 5A

I sit next to Scott on the hood of Stiles' Jeep staring at the full moon. Stiles is looking at a map of the San Francisco Bay Area. "Alright, so I found some cool two bedroom apartments in the Mission District, but they're pretty expensive. A couple in Haight and Ashbury. Also expensive."

"What about Berkeley?" Scott asks.

"Two bedroom?" I ask at the same time.

Stiles nods. "Yeah. I was thinking we could share a bedroom and Scott could have his own...if you're okay with it."

I kiss his cheek. "I like that idea."

Scott rolls his eyes. "Come on, you two. I don't want to see your PDA. Anyway, don't a lot of students live around Berkeley?"

Stiles' hand shoots into the air. "Well, yeah, we could try Nob Hill. But, the Jeep would probably burn through a lot of clutches."

"You're bringing the Jeep?" Scott asks.

Stiles turns to me and back to Scott, giving him a look of disbelief. "Did you ask that? Did you really just ask that? You know the plan, okay? No one gets left behind. That's the plan. Lydia's not gonna have a problem getting into Stanford. Kira's thinking USF. Malia's, uh, gonna you know, she'll figure something out, okay? And Megara's planning to study marine biology at NYU. The plan's perfect."

Scott sighs. "Or we could also wait until we actually get into college and then figure out where to live."

I frown. "Scott, don't ruin the vision."

Stiles places his arm around my shoulders. "Yeah. Don't ruin the vision. You and me always wanted to go to college together. And we've talked about Megara joining. We can check out East Bay. Haven't looked at Oakland yet, you know."

Scott turns to look at something and I ask, "You good, Scott? Is the full moon starting to get to you?"

He shakes his head. "No. Just thinking."

"What about?"

"Senior year."

Stiles shoots his hand in the air once again. "Senior year, come on, that's, that's...That's nothing. That's going to be easy."

Scott sits up and tells us, "It's more like something Deaton told me once. You ever hear of regression to the mean?"

Stiles shakes his head. "No, I don't think so."

"Nope, never." I reply.

Scott explains, "It was his way of saying that life can't ever be all bad or all good. You know, eventually things have to come back to the middle. So, think about the last few months. Things have been good, right? But not amazing."

Stiles lets out a sigh. "Yeah, but no one's tried to kill us in six months either."

I narrow my eyes. "Soon as you say that, one of my monsters is gonna appear."

Scott glances to me. "I don't think so. Right. We've been pretty much in the middle for awhile. Which means at some point, the scale has to tip one way or the other. Things are gonna get really good again..."

"Or really bad." Stiles finishes before a loud crack of thunder sounds. "Think it's been long enough?"

"Yes." Liam cries from the tree he's chained too.

"Someone seriously pissed off Zeus." I mutter.

Stiles turns to me. "You say that everytime it rains."

"Well, it's true."

"Anyway, Liam's still there. I'd call that progress."

My boyfriend frowns at the young werewolf. "Hey. Trying to have an adult conversation over here."
