Facebook is the Paris of our times.

Are you a Hemingway or a Gertrude Stein?

But instead of sitting in cafes face to face,

We click each other's database.

I click you and you click me,

It's fun, this frivolity.

18th Century minds, over a coffee cup,

Would be agog at the speed at which we hook up.

But danger lurks in this web’s nooks

Far worse than stalkers, pervs and crooks

We are and shall be cursed,

With the proliferation of stinky verse.
