✧ How It Works ✧

This is a list of how we are judging the books.

There will be 2 rounds total.

✧ FIRST ROUND: Judges will read 6 chapters to get the feel of things (excluding prologue). The judge for the category you entered will choose 4 books to go forward to the second round. (We'll post a chapter which books are going forward along with your score, this doesn't mean your book isn't lovely! Keep writing never stop!)

On the first round, we are going to be focusing on:
- the cover: Is the cover well made (does it set the tone for the book and/or is made well? Does the cover make you want to read it?) 0-5 points
- our feeling towards the beginning of the story: does it reel you in on the first few chapters? 0-10 points
- the flow of the story: is the grammar decent? Are the sentences built well? Does it make you want to continue reading? 0-10 points
- description: does the description go with the book? 0-5 points

Total points: 30

✧ SECOND ROUND: The judges will start getting more immersed in your book and will choose only 1 from each category to go forward (Chapter will be posted with your score).

On the second round, we are going to be focusing on:
- where is the story going: is the rest of the story related to the chapters from the beginning? Is the story losing its focus? 0-10 points
- the grammar: is the author getting sloppy? Is the story losing its quality in terms of writing? 0-15 points
- quality: are the chapters losing quality in terms of information? Is the story too repetitive (p.e. writing "she said" and "he said" lots of times without including different verbs) 0-10 points
- does the story make sense: is the story confusing? Is the author writing chapters or parts of them that may lead to confusion? 0-10 points

Total points: 45

Winners will be chosen by scores, three winners per category!✧
