The Way We Quit

Karou walked into Marcy's room and laid across the bed. Smith (a Golden Retriever Puck had gifted Marcy for her birthday) climbed on her. "I don't feel good, Twin."

"You don't?" Marcy looked up from her knitting. "What's wrong?"

"I keep throwing up. I don't know who got us sick but me, Yuri nor P can't keep anything down."

"Come here." Karou came closer and Marcy felt her face. "You're not warm but you are clammy. Did you eat something?"

"I don't know. Probably. I've been so hungry lately."

"Must be nice..." Marcy still didn't have an appetite.

"Not really. I keep throwing it up. But after an hour, I feel better. Until I throw up again. I'm so tired, I keep going to sleep."

"Girl, I get it. This-" Marcy stopped. "Have you been having unprotected sex?"

"What?! No! We've been using your leftover condoms."

Marcy paled. "Where are they?"

"I've got some and P has some."

"Do you have the box?"

"I think so." Karou didn't understand.

"Go get it."

"What's wrong?" Karou looked at her cousin in fear.

"Tell Yuri and P to come here." Marcy mentally cursed at the old condom box. "You're taking pregnancy tests."

Karou, Paris and Yuria looked at their positive pregnancy tests in awe. "Holy shit...!"

Marcy paced. "Dammit! Dammit! Dammit!"

"How did this happen?" Paris wondered.

"Those condoms were old when we got 'em and we've had them for over two years!"

"Condoms expire?" Paris never knew that.

"Everything on Earth expires!"

Paris pouted. "So what are we going to do? Jude might not want to be a daddy."

"Don't do my dude like that."

"Are you sure?" Paris stuck her lip out.

"Jude will never disappoint you."

Paris smiled but Karou scowled. "So her boyfriend is a saint! Ours is an Abrams!"

Marcy had no ready answers for that. "Your best bet is to be honest with the hottie."

Karou sighed before realizing what her twin said. "Hey!"
