Damola wiped a flick of sweat from his eyebrow. He had spent hours trying to convince Nosa to apologize to Isoken but boy was he stubborn.
"Nosa, look I'm done. This girl is giving you another chance,this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. You have to do this for your career. I'm leaving, don't call me until you change your mind. "Damola picked up his keys and phone then walked out.
Nosa sat on the sofa thinking about whether to apologize or not. His damn pride won't let him do such a thing. He needed a damn drink. He shuffled quickly to the wine cabinet because the quicker he got there the fast for him to get back to the comfortable couch.
He turned some whiskey into a shot glass and drowned it immediately. God, he needed that. He took the bottle and the glass with him back to his couch. This was becoming a habit of his; drinking and drinking and more drinking.
Damola was right; this girl was the only one who could help his career, what was a little apology going to take from him .He picked up his phone to call Damola, who answered on the first ring.
"Hello...." Damola tried speaking before being rudely cut off by Nosa.
"Look, I'll do it. Just schedule a meeting with her at her house. It has to be before the end of the week.
"Okay, you are the boss, besides what made you change your mind? " Damola asked. Nosa rolled his eyes, not this question.
"Forget about it just fix a date with the girl okay. " he replied then hung up.

"Hi, come on in" Lara said welcoming their guests. She ushered them to a seat and went to the kitchen to get some drinks.
"Good afternoon, Nosa and Damola; what can we do for you this lovely afternoon." Isoken asked with an eyebrow raised when she saw Damola nudging his friend.
"Afternoon, and ehm I'm here to apologize about my behavior the other day, I should have been the bigger man in the situation. Its not as if you were helping matters at all." Nosa said with an air of arrogance around him. By this time Lara had returned from the kitchen with their drinks and was placing it on the table when he uttered those words and she was just as shocked as her best friend, meanwhile Damola looked as if he wanted the ground to open up and swallow him.
"What is your problem,orì etì darù (you are not normal) you think you can walk in here and indirectly insult my friend in the name of a so-called apology. " Lara raved glaring at him.
"Guys,please he didn't mean it,right Nosa?" Damola pleaded, also glaring at him.
"What did I say wrong? I only said the truth." He grumbled. Isoken who had sat there for a while decided she had had enough of his bullshit
"You are so ill-mannered. "
"Look,are you going to do it or not?I'll pay you a million naira to it."
"Listen and listen to me carefully I want you to get out of my house you overpampered manchild." She growled as she glowered at him. Both Men shifted uncomfortably knowing that she was not joking. They scrambled out of the house almost immediately.
Isoken fall on the chair almost immediately out of tiredness.

"What" Isoken said rudely to the intruders at her doorstep. It was just two days after their last encounter with each other.
"Isoken,this time it's for real:I'm really sorry about all the horrible things I said to you on our date and even two days ago I hope you can find a place in your heart to forgive me. " Nosa said in one breath. To say Isoken and Lara were shocked was an understatement. Their eyes bulged out so wide as if it wanted to fall out. It wasn't the apology that shocked them but the fact that he looked really sincere.
"Well,that was shocking. Why don't you come in and lets have a decent conversation without my neighbors spying on us." Isoken said then stepped aside for them to enter. When they were all seated,she opened her mouth to speak.
"What you said just now sounded so genuine and because of that I'll help you. "Both boys look very surprised.
"Thank you very much I really appreciate it. I owe you a lot."
"Its fine. Besides all i wanted was for you to genuinely apologize nothing else. So what's the plan" She shrugged as if it was no big deal.
"Thanks a lot,first of all I'll have Nosa's lawyer draw up a contract ok then you guys will have to go on a few dates before coming out to announce your relationship but all this has to be done before Elegushi Beach music festival which is about two months from now." Damola stated.
"Whoa, seems like you have it all planned out but what do we need a contract for?" Lara asked.
"So that we can know that we each agree to the terms of the relationship."
"That's fine by me." Lara said then glanced at Isoken who also nodded in affirmation.
"Well thank once again for having us we'll take our leave now." They stood and saw themselves out of the house both parties thinking about what they had gotten themselves into.
