"Oh my god! Aas so you finally came.
Wlhy i personally told Ammi to send you here had it been you didn't come i swear i'll skin you alive"
They all chuckled
"It seems my presence hasn't been acknowledged here"
Oops! Sorry Ya Aas". She closed her mouth.
"I mean Ya Aasad. How was the journey?"
He glared at her and said "I won't answer you where is Amma?" (Their granny)
"She is at the garden you know she doesn't come inside untill it's dark"
"Let me go see her" he said and dashed off.
"Hey where are the rest? I didn't see anyone"
"Yeah they went to a neighbour's wedding but they must be on their way by now. Do you know that i didn't tell them you guys were coming?"
"Too bad baby gurl. You know Maami is going to scold you tum jaanti ho naa. (You know her ai)
"Ha! We don pass pass that level oo"
"Awwwnn! So you are still working on your pidgin. How sad" she said teasingly and ran towards the back yard because she know Amma wouldn't allow Firdous to pounce on her"
On reaching there, she found Amma teasing Ya Aasad like always.
Mere patni. Kese ho tum? Tum bohot sundar lagti ho"
(my husband. How are you? I can see you are looking very handsome)
"Yes because i'm finer than your husband"
"Haan haan (yes yes) he's no more so you can marry me now won't you? Or is it because you have Aasmita thats why you don't want to marry me? Are chodo di je (leave her alone) she doesn't know how to take care of you thats why magar main hu naa (but i am here )
"What! Amma tum kya bol raha tha?" ( Amma what are you saying?) Firdous said
"Someone explain to me i don't get what you are saying".
"Bewakoof, tum jhanti nahi?" (Fool, don't you know?)"
"Amma! I'm not a fool. Of course main jhanti nahi." (Of course i don't know)
"Aasmita Aasad ki bivi hai'' ( Aasmita is Aasad's wife)
She gasped and said
"Haye rabba! Bivi? (Oh god! Wife?)
This calls for a celebration"
She hugged Aasmita
"Will you keep quiet and show them thier room its almost maghrib"
"Yes, sure. Ya Aasad let me show you your room first because the other room you use to stay has no electricity it just spoilt yesterday"
"Lets go?" He said which sounds more like a question because Firdous surely knows how to blabber.
"Uh..ha..lets go. Aas i'll get back to you later" she winked
"Amma how did you know that i'm his wife?"
"Who?"
"Him"
"Who in direct?"
"Urgghh!" She groaned untill her throat started paining
"Ya Aasad of course if not him who else?"
"Oh! That? Well...i was even the one who advised suhaila (Aasad's mother) to get you hitched but you see Allah's plan is different she didn't witness it. So your mother and father decided to fulfil her wish"
"Hmmm"
"And...what ya say about it?"
"Amma aren't you too old for this?"
"How can i be old when i have a young and handsome husband?" She chuckled
She face palmed herself
"This woman would be the death of me one day i shouldn't have agreed to come in the first place"
she murmured underneath her breath through gritted teeth
"Hey, i heard that"
"Well..keep hearing, i'm going" she fired and stumped her feet

"Aasmita dear what would you like to eat?" Maami asked
"Just onion samosa and kheer would do"
"And you Aasad?"
"Same"
Same? Wow what a perfect lovestory
"Hey! Are you thinking what i'm thinking?" Firdous whispered to Aasmita
"What?"
"I think he loves you"
"What! What made you think so?"
"Didn't you hear him? He said he's going to eat what you are going eat" she stressed on the 'you'
"And how's that connected to love" she stressed on the 'love' and twisted her fingers up and down
"Just leave it you will never understand"
"Whatever" she rolled her eyes
"And what's with you and this whatever?"
"Whatever" she said and rolled her eyes again
"You are looking for trouble right? Alright i'll give it to you"
"Whatever" she rolled her eyes again and again
"Urgghhh" she stretched her hands ready to strangle her when Maami's voice interrupted
"Firdous what are you doing? They just came few hours ago won't you allow her to rest?"
"Sweerie come and eat your food"
She stucked her tongue at her
"1_0" Firdous said and bumped her fist.
"Whatever" Aasmita said in a singsong.
