Stage Fright

I stepped onto the stage and reflected.

I was prepared, I knew I was but my nerves were bursting out at the seams.

They were sparkling like those sparklers that you light on The Fourth Of July.

I closed my eyes but found myself shrinking in the middle of a never-ending black ocean.

I could feel myself get dragged under the thick surface and pulled deeper into the darkness.

But suddenly, I was on stage again,

And everything faded into harmony.

My chest burst with warmth,

and I performed.
