Chapter 19: The Only Place Left

Meanwhile...

Gabriel looks straight at Jared through one of the monitors.

Gabriel: "He figured it out, and here I thought it would be James."

He stands up.

Gabriel: "Yes Jared Baryl, I've been hiding right next to you this entire time! I've been using these Psychos to drag you straight to me!"

He begins to chuckle.

Gabriel: "(chuckling) And now..."

He looks at the others who are still out cold as he breaks out into laughter.

Gabriel: "(maniacally laughing) ... I can avenge my master by killing those who were his sworn enemies!"

He suddenly stops.

Gabriel: "Except for him, but he's quite special..."

Two hours later...

The others awaken to find Jared talking to himself.

Jared: "(mumbling) Gabriel is calling me to the Gateway to Abyss, but why? Why am I the key? What makes me different than others? I was born like any other human..."

Odd snaps his fingers.

Odd: "Why the hel are you spouting nonsense?"

Jared: "O-Oh uh..."

James: "You figured something out."

Jared looks down the passage ahead of them.

Jared: "Gabriel is down here with us."

Jade: "Wait, you saw him?!"

Jared: "No, but it makes sense as to why Psychos ignore the sewers."

Jake: "So he isn't drawing attention to himself and allow him to concentrate his troops on the surface."

Jared has a different spark behind his eyes.

Jared: "So he can get me."

Jason: "Why you?"

Jared: "So he can open the Gateway to Abyss."

Lexi: "This again?"

Jared: "My dream was different this time!"

Eryth: "Dream?"

Jared faces them.

Jared: "Usually I would be standing in front of a door as a voice tells me to open the door, but this time, I would've opened it, but I woke up."

Jared looks down at his hands.

Jared: "(in head) Was it that broken blade?"

James walks past Jared.

James: "If you say he's here, then he's here."

Everyone looks down the dark passage ahead.

Jack: "How're we going to find him?"

Jay: "He can literally be anywhere?"

Jared walks forward.

Jared: "We go looking until we find him."

A bright light forms in Jack's hands.

Jack: "(smiling) I like the sound of that!"

Dimitri: "U-Uh..."

Jamie: "You find half the stuff you do fun."

Jamie, James, and Jade start to follow.

Eryth: "You get used to it."

Jake, Odd, and Lexi are next.

Jake: "We'll be walking for about... 3 hours straight?"

Odd: "(awkwardly) Well, you're not wrong."

The others start following.

Jamie: "Time for the real living hell."

They trudge through the sewers, the pathway to the final battle...
