Wet Grass

My cousin and I wrote a poem. I'm the regular font and she is italics

Wet grass beneath my feet
Grey clouds that lead to a heaven I'll soon meet
Pavement that curved endlessly
As the birds in their trees sing their songs to me
Flying towards home, wings flapping gently
In this place I lie I unjudged
For they know that in the end of time
What matters is... Well none
Nothing I could ever do could change my fate
Nothing you could ever do could shake it
My mountain of sin and my demise
All that I know will be your surprise
When this ruined would finally ends
I'll be at peace
You scared me burned my soul with your hate
Even though I loved you
So when we burn don't cry
Because you knew we would all along
Don't pretend your not the reason for my dreams
Or the reason for my nightmares
You tied me to the cross you set on fire
Little did you know death was my desire
I love the thrill of its taunts
But also the relief of eternal slumber
Son of I has to walk through bush and briar
To find my neverending fire
I'd choose you every single time
Even if it meant I'd lose some mine
But don't flame for the flames you lit
Or for the ones I blew out
If you leave me in a burning forest
I'll cling to a tree
And they'll have to see me
Which is something I need
And if drown me in a brook
I'll hope you they'll put me in a book
As a testimony to our idea of love
And hate along with everything in between
And when I reach for the stars
I don't see the twinkle twinkle that you do
I see the blinding light of burning flame
And with it was orange like yours
If you are my sunshine
Then I'm your nightfall
And we need each other
Or do we just think we do
But whatever the case
I still love you
As the rain wets the grass beneath my feet.
