I know you can hear them

Loud and clear

All those people

All those muffled voices

All around you

Everywhere

Mocking the color of your skin

The texture of your hair

And the stutters of your tongue

With thr holes in your personality

And i know that for you

they matter

All those opinions

All those perceptions of you

That they form in their brains

And you let them define you

I also know how hard it is

To stop listening

To stop seeking

Their attention,

Applaus

And affections

But i am here to tell you

What you will always forget

That you are still strong

That in every flaw you find within yourself

There is a hidden perfection

That they are just too blind to see

You have to stop

Stop listening

Stop craving their affirmations

And tune out

all these sounds,

All these perceptions they construe

Its time

Time to learn to be you .
