Last edition, I wrote about completing my first real piece, which I put on Wattpad. Of course, this was a raw, unedited, and untouched story. A lot of people have asked for a sequel, or informed me that the ending left a little to be desired. To which, of course, I brought up that it would be edited.

So here I sit. Has it been edited? Well, I started it. Maybe I hate editing, though I think it's more than that. I hate pouring over it where there are still stories I ache to write. However, I know that if I ever want to do anything with it than have it be relatively successful on the internet, I need to just sit down, quit complaining, and get on with it.

I'm about halfway through with the first edit, and I've been exploring my options as far as publishing goes. I have some beta readers lined up. These are people that are willing to read over the story and tell me what is wrong with it, where its plot weaknesses are, and what they just don't like. There are only a few of them, and once they have read it, I will do another edit, and repeat the process a few more times.

As far as writing horror goes, it's anyone's world. I know I will probably not be the next Stephen King – not even close. But I think that I will be able to at least make a mark on my own dreams. Accomplishing anything with my writing will be a goal accomplished, and if I never sell a million copies, I will be content with that.

I have a contact that I talk to, and she and I have had extensive discussions as far as editing, beta reading, and all manners of research to be done on the path to publishing. The very last thing any potential writer wants to do is dig themselves a grave and get buried in their own mistakes in attempting to write queries and get their foot in the door.

Next edition, I will go through some of the things a writer wanting to publish need to think about before they assume their going to just miraculously land a contract. Until then, just keep screaming!
