Chapter Sixteen- Betrayal

I roll off the bed smacking my head on the wall, waking me from a not very good sleep. 

"Ow! What the fuck is going on?" I groan and stand up, rubbing my head, "Levi, wake up."

I grab his shoulder and shake him a little. He groans and puts a pillow over his head. How is he even sleeping with the boat rocking like this?

I go up to the captains room and see Raven and Thor fighting with the boat and each other. The ocean water is smacking the windows around us. With all the ruckus, they don't even notice me here. 

"Can I help?" I finally interrupt their arguing.

"Can you get rid of a storm?" Thor groans, "I could if I still had my normal powers."

"Get over it, Thor. You'd be dead with your normal powers," Raven defends me before I can. I shoot her a smile before walking over to them.

"What's with this storm anyways?" I ask and look around out the windows, "I haven't been able to sleep at all."

"We've been in pretty rough water ever since we left The Frozen Lands. It's so weird it's like it's just above us," Thor says before nodding out towards the deck.

I look and notice a silhouette of a person. The longer I look the more I can make out that it's a girl. Before I know it Raven is running out towards her.

It's Sabella?

I quickly follow Raven's lead and dart out there after them. 

"Bells, What's going on?" I yell and Raven grabs my arm, stopping me from going any closer. 

"She's not okay," Raven says into my ear so I can hear her through the storm, "Look close."

I focus on Sabella and see her crying, her face as red as an apple, "Sabella, are you okay?"

"Fuck you, Effie!" Her voice comes out deep and raspy. She shoves me and I almost fall off the edge of the boat.

"Sabella! What the fuck?" Raven yells pulling her back. 

She quickly pushes Raven away and storms after me. A bolt of lightning almost hits me, knocking me off the edge and into the water. On the way down I hit my head on a guard rail, giving me the migraine of a lifetime. I can see creatures all around the boat, flashes of lightning give me sight every now and then. 

I feel something slimy under my foot and notice a hippocampus. It nudges me up and rests me on its back as it slowly rises to the surface. My body is in shock and I just lay on its back deep breathing. I know I'll heal eventually but my entire body is sore and throbbing from pain. 

I can still see the boat a few hundred yards away from where I was resting in the water with the gorgeous blue green creature that saved me. 

"Thank you," I breathe and pet the neck of the beautiful beast, "I owe you."

It makes a clicking neigh noise before beginning to swim towards the boat. When we get back on the boat I can hear everyone arguing. The hippocampus lets me get off of her on the swim platform on the stern of the boat, I thank her before rushing off towards my friends loud voices. 

"Sabella! Stop!" I hear Levi's broken voice, "Please, killing Effie was enough, please don't do this!"

I try to stay hidden as I look onto the scene in front of me. Sabella holds Raven, an arm around her torso and a knife to her throat. 

"Stay back! This knife is iron, It'll kill her instantly. I won't hesitate," Sabella screams before her eyes shoot straight at me, "Join us, Effie."
