Chapter 8 - the war

"Out of the way, dumber, smaller Groot" Drax said as he helped (Y/N) by giving her his shoulder.

When he entered the ship, Baby Groot punched Drax as hard as he could repeatedly, but Drax felt nothing. 

Gamora and Peter soon entered as she let Peter laid down, same as (Y/N). 

"I told you something wasn't right" Gamora scolded Peter.

Peter rolled his eyes at her.

"'I told you so'. That's really what I needed" Peter sarcastically told.

"I came back, didn't I?" Gamora said, smirking.

Peter smiled at the comeback.

"Because there's an unspoken thing" Peter told.

"There's no 'unspoken thing'" Gamora told, quoted the 'unspoken thing'.

All of them soon entered the door to the deck. Saw Rocket, Yondu and Kraglin in it.

"What are you doing?! You could have killed us all crashing in here like that!" Drax scolded, very unusual of him.

"Uh... 'Thank you Rocket'?" Rocket said, expecting a thanks.

"We had it under control" Drax told the three in the deck.

"We did not. That is only an extension of him true self. He will be back soon" Mantis told, her voice shakes in fear.

Peter looked around and noticed Nebula in the ship too.

"What's Smurfette doing here?!" Peter yelled in surprise.

"Back rubs, dishes, killing gods, whatever I need to do to get a damn ride home" Nebula said, slight rage in her tone.

"She tried to kill me!" Rocket yelled, pointing to Nebula.

"I save you, stupid fox" Nebula barked back.

"He's not a fox" (Y/N) said in a warning tone.

"I am Groot" Baby Groot said.

"I'm not a raboon either!" Rocket barked.

"I am Groot"

"Raccoon, whatever" he said before turning once again to pilot.

Drax looked at the window as everyone felt the ground began to shake. Tentacles started to burst up all around the ship, making the ship sunk down.

Drax then turned to look at the others.

"How do we kill the Celestial?" Drax asked.

"There's the center to him - his brain, his soul, whatever it is, in sort of shell-" Peter got cut off by Mantis.

"It's in the caverns below surface" Mantis told.

Yondu began to thrusts the ship upward for takeoff, but the tentacles are still wrap around ship. The ship began to get sunk down.

Everyone began to panicked as the Quills began to fix and rewiring the mechanics.

"I guess I should be glad I was a skinny kid. Otherwise you would have delivered me to this maniac!" Peter yelled told Yondu.

"You still reckon that's the reason why I kept both of you around, you idiot!!" Yondu yelled at the front. 

(Y/N) bursts to laughs as she continued to rewiring.

"That's what you told us, you old doofus!" Peter yelled from the back.

(Y/N) bursts to laughters again.

"Once I figured out what happened to them to other kids, I wasn't just gonna hand you over" Yondu told.

"You said you were gonna eat us!" 

"That was being funny!"

"Not to us!" 

(Y/N) laughed loudly as tears began to rolled down her face.

"You people have issues" Rocket mumbled, making (Y/N) laughed again.

"G-guys! Stop! I'm going to explode!" (Y/N) said between her loud laughs, clutching to her stomach.

At the same time, Ego's creepy skeletal showed up in front of them. The QUill's eyes widened at the horror scene.

"Of course I have issues- THAT'S OUR FREAKING FATHER!!" Peter pointed to Ego.

"Thrusters are back up!" (Y/N) told.

Quill thrusts the ship forward but it didn't go as planned. The ship crashed through Ego and made him into pieces. The ship slides down the slippy floor as the ship crashes to the giant glass window. 

The ship began to go downwards as everyone held something to not float or got backed up. (Y/N) was clenching to Rocket's chair, like her life depended on it which is true.

(Y/N) felt a small touch on her forehand. She turned to look at it and found out that it was Rocket. He gave her an encouraging smile and she gladly returned it. 

"We should be going up!" (Y/N) heard Yondu yelled.

"We can't. Ego wants to eradicate the universe as we know it. We have to kill him" Peter ordered.

The ship began to get near the ground, making everyone more panicked. 

"ROCKET!" Peter yelled, making the two broke eye contacts.

"Got it" Rocket pushed some buttons which revealed a lot of lasers blasted to the ground, making hole for the ship to fit.

"Hang on, princess!" Rocket yelled as (Y/N) clenched to the seat tighter.

After what it felt like seconds, the ship began to be led into a cave underground the palace. The ship was once again in control and began to fly, making the others back to their feet.

"So, we're saving the galaxy again?" Rocket asked.

(Y/N) smiled at his tone. 

"I guess" (Y/N) replied.

"Awesome. We'll really be able to jack up our prices if we're two-times-galaxy savers" 

"I seriously can't believe that is where your mind goes" Peter said, unbelievable.

"I thought we were friends!" Rocket replied. "Of course I care about the planets, and the buildings, and all animals on the planets" Rocket admits.

"And the people?" Peter asked.

"Meh" Rocket shrugged.

Mantis and (Y/N) giggled in unison.

"The crabby puppy is so cute, he makes me want to die!" Mantis squealed.

"Your suicidal thought sadden me, but your wish will likely come true" Drax said.

Everyone began do their own things as Yondu piloting to get near to the core, not hearing Kraglin between the cracking speakers beside him.

"You don't care about me?" (Y/N) asked Rocket out of blue.

Rocket looked at (Y/N), smirking. (Y/N) felt her cheeks began to warm up. 

"Why don't you find out?" Rocket asked.

Now, it's (Y/N)'s time to smirk.

"God, you're so dirty.." (Y/N) said in such a seductively tone before left to get ready for the upcoming war.
