(Kokichi's POV)

Why do I feel sad or guilty I should be happy we bought ourselves more time. I felt a hard flick on my cheek. "Perk up kokichi...." Shuichi said to me still holding his hand to my face. "I can't I just feel.... really bad" I responded more to myself rather than him.
"Why they deserve it... they aren't even willing to help us! They are just gonna stand around and watch us die!" Shuichi raised his voice causing me to flinch. He gripped both my shoulders tightly his nails digging into my skin through my shirt. "Why can't you work it through your head I'm trying to help you!" He yelled I was scared not even gonna lie. "I could kill you or anybody else here! I came here to do that!" He continued on in a rant. "Then why haven't you!" I yelled back a little quieter.
He looked like he would kill me I was scared out of my mind. One because I never EVER raised my voice EVER, and two I just raised my voice with Shuichi Saihara. He let go of my shoulder and hit me across the face. I wasn't expecting the hit do of course I stumbled back. Almost falling cause I couldn't catch myself with both arms.
           He looked ma- no pissed at me. My cheek stung and we both waited in silence. As if both of us believed even the smallest movement would set the other off. Shuichi made the first move
grabbing me roughly by the hair. He ripped me up from the ground and drug me to the door of his lab. And threw me on the floor once he opened the door.
          I winced knowing my shoulder and cheek were going to have pretty nasty bruises. Shuichi looked over me as I moved up from the floor. "Your lucky you helped me" he said before slamming the door shut. The door slammed pretty loud making me jump.
           I slowly got up off the floor already seeing the corner of a bruise on my cheek from my limited eyesight of my face. I sighed and just walked away towards the kitchen so I could sneak in and out without getting noticed at lunch later. "Don't feel like getting beaten in front of the others again" I muttered to myself as my sluggish movements to get to the kitchen paid off.
         I opened the door the lights were off and they stayed that way. I didn't want the others seeing it was on. I walked over to the cabinets and opened it. I grabbed a piece of bread. Kinda bummed that I would miss kirumi's cooking at lunch and dinner. "They probably hate me I don't deserve the pleasure to eat from her after I betrayed her trust like that" I muttered to myself before grabbing the whole loaf of bread. As it only had four prices left. As I was about to leave I heard footsteps approaching. Before I had the chance to even think of hiding somewhere the door opened and the light was flicked on.
           I was face to face with Maki and heard Kaito calling for her down the hall. We both froze 'do something but don't do something!' I was screaming at myself making me panic more. I was sweating bullets. "Hehe.... hey maki wh-What's up?" I said in an akward way. 'Smooth kokichi smooth' I thought to myself.
        I did an awkward side step to try and get around her. Right as I was about to make a run for it maki grabbed my scarf. "Ack! Maki let go!" I screeched. "No" was the only response I got as she started to drag me towards Kaito's calls.
        I tried to dig my feet into the floor to stop her, but her strength easily overpowered mine. I gave up when we got close to the doorway in the dining room. I slightly looked over my shoulder and only saw Kaito none of the others.
        Maki stopped dragging me and set me on my feet lightly. "I caught a gremlin stealing the bread" maki stated and kaito snickers. "Alright did you drag me in here just to say that?" I asked sarcastically before trying to back-step out of the room.
       Maki once again grabbed my scarf. "No we were looking for you, but we went to plan and I heard a cabinet shut with the lights on" maki reply's and I sigh in defeat.
        "Why were you looking for me?" I asked managing to cover any hint of my nervousness. "It's about Shuichi" Kaito states. "Well I'm not saying anything about him.." I said as the words were practically drilled in my mind to tell teachers when they asked about Shuichi. Kaito sighed and stood up practically towering over me "Why cause he will beat you?" Kaito asked with irritation leaking into his voice. "You don't understand what your talking abo-" "then explain it!" He said obviously mad.
          "No! I can't!" I yelled in his face. He stiffens but sighs with aggravation "why not?" He asked I started trying to wrestle my way out of Mali's grip. "Just tell us and you can leave" maki stated  gripping onto me tighter.
        " I can't! Why can't you understand that!" I yelled also getting frustrated not with them, but my own stupid decision to get food. "We don't 'understand' because we are trying to find out how to help you!" Kaito said back angrily. "Well maybe I don't want anyone else to get involved!" I snapped back not hearing the door open behind us.
        "What the hell is going on in here!!" Somebody yelled from behind us who I immediately recognized as Kiibo. "The gremlin won't tell us how to help him with Shuichi" maki replies sternly.
         "Well this isn't the way you do that!" Kiibo said even more surprised at the first attempt of these people. I felt the grip on me release "them Kiibo what should we do?" Maki said still aggravated about the argument between the three. I took my chance and ran for it. I did it I made it, but maki was catching up. I ran down a hallway it was pitch black, but I knew it like the back of my hand.
         At the end of the hall on the left hand side was a door. Which I went through and quickly locked behind me. I sighed and went to the back corner and sat on a couch.
