You are getting some stuff organised for your rounds but you are soon stopped

"Don't bother because Nurse Major Cavanagh wishes to see you,"

"Oh do you know why?" you ask as you place the satchel back on your bed. The other nurse shrugs. Five minutes later you are in the office of Nurse Major Cavanagh

"You wanted to see me Ma'am?" you ask a little confused

"Yes, you've been reassigned to Lt. Aldo Raine's unit. You are to head to the courtyard to get a further briefing. I've also promoted you to Nurse Lieutenant," she gives you your orders

"Yes Ma'am," you confirm your understanding

"And one last thing your to get your supplies from the quartermaster once you are done with Lt. Raine," she passes you a piece of paper

"Thank you," you respond because you don't like saying goodbye. You also take the piece of paper.

Three minutes later you are just about to enter the courtyard but your curiosity causes you to Eve's drop

"Or you will die tryin'." you catch the last part of his briefing for his men. You immediately recognise his southern accent as a Tennessee accent

"Yes Sir," they parrot back which makes you uncomfortable. You decide you've had enough time for Eve's dropping. You approach Lt. Raine. You can feel the stares of the other men.

"What brings you here?" Lt. Aldo Raine asks. His Tennessee accent memories you because you are used to the rough Scottish accent of your family

"I've been assigned to your unit," you pass the piece of paper to him

"So you have," he takes it and reads it

"Donny?"

"Yes, sir?" A muscular Boston native responds and you can tell he is from Boston because you've lived with a Bostonian for the majority of your time in America. Raine gestures and they break off from the other men.

"You must be the nurse," one of the soldiers remarks with a heavy Austrian accent

"Aye I'm Nurse Lieutenant Jamie De Caestecker," you reply

"Corporal Wilhelm Wicki," He exclaims as he salutes you

"At ease and you don't have to worry about formalities," you respond a little weirded out

"Sorry Ma'am," Wicki remarks a little defeated

"Don't worry about it," you say cheering him up. You are a little perplexed at why an Austrian is in America but your mind doesn't hang on it.

"Smithson Utivich," a 5' 8 man with a slightly scruffy mess of hair approaches you. He also offers his hand for a handshake

"Nice to meet you," you reply as you firmly shake his hand. Five minutes later you've introduced yourself the everyone

"Omar, can you help Jamie with her supplies?" Aldo orders/asks

"Yes, I can. Follow me," he starts to walk off and you follow him. A minute later you are both walking down a hallway

"De Caestecker is a Scottish name isn't it?" Omar enquires because he has a curiosity which you understand

"Aye, my family moved to New York when I was thirteen," you respond giving him the brief version

"And I've finally met a Yank that knows the difference between the Scotts and the English,"

Two minutes later you have made it to the quartermaster's office

"Nurse Lieutenant Jamie De Caestecker. I need these supplies," You announce yourself as you hold out a list. You can feel the gazes of the other medical staff who are there getting stuff. You put it down to the fact that you are with Omar.

"Coming up," the quartermaster takes your list

"I think Lieutenant Raine forgot to mention we will be wearing civilian clothing and we will be jumping out of an aeroplane, " He basically completes your briefing

"Oh umm ok," you stammer because your fear of heights kicks in

"You'll be fine. Donny will take care of you,"

"I know," you reply as the quartermaster passes you the items

"Thank you and Omar if you don't mind I'll get changed when I pass my room," you take the goods

"That's fine," Omar remarks. Three minutes later you are getting your normal clothes on and it feels odd because you are normally doing rounds by now. You fix the collar on your shirt. You also put the supplies in your satchel.

"Sorry for the wait Omar," you feel a little sorry about the detour

"Don't worry," he responds

Five minutes later you have made it to the airplane and Aldo extends a hand to help you up. Omar has left to get changed.

"Thank you," you say as you take his hand and pull yourself up. You take the seat between Utivich and Wicki

"Jamie you look concerned," Utivich remarks

"It's the heights," you comment as you feel the colour drain from your face even though the airplane hasn't taken off. A minute later Omar is back and he hops in. Aldo lets the pilot know he can go. You feel the airplane lurch forward.

Seven hours later everyone has gotten up and ready except you.

"Jamie you need to get up or we will miss the drop point," Donny remarks as he shuffles closer to you

"I know," you also shuffle closer. He hocks you up to his gear. Donny also takes your stuff. Two minutes later you've buried yourself in Donny's back so you don't have to look down. A minute later you can feel the rush of air as you and Donny fall to the ground. Three minutes later Donny has pulled the cord for the parachute. You can feel the tug but you feel better. Five minutes later you hit the ground with a soft thud. You are a little shaken but you decide to check on everyone else.

"Is everyone alright?" You ask as the other members gather around.

"Yes," Wicki remarks as a ripple of affirmation flows through the men

"Let's go," Aldo remarks as Donny passes you your gear
