Pet peeve: author note frequency, it just fills the reader with disappointment when they see that the book they have been waiting to update is just another author's note. Especially when the book is updated frequently, but all that's popping up are authors notes
Tip, time management: I may not be so good at it myself, but it does help get things done in time, or get them started. Author's notes show you have time, just very little of it, if a/n's are shown to the point of it actually competing with the amount of story content in the book, it makes you come off as lazy and less likely to be taken seriously
