To exist around them was a gift. The fame came after.
They were as they always will be--absolutely unfathomable. Their essence unchanged by the success and the music only altered by their experience. They, like everyone else, need to be taken at face value. Their music, whatever the inspiration or meaning, is a little bit of them. Their actions express who they are in that moment. Their words, whatever they maybe be, attest to their unaltered views on life, its meaning, and its symptoms.
Why, then, do we pick and tear at what they say or do or think when we have not the courage to even consider those words, actions, or views?
When will the world realize that a song doesn't have to mean something special the the singer as long as it means something to you? Or that what they do does not effect you enough to be riled. Or that the course of our life is not unchangeably altered against our wishes by their speech.
