A loud knock on the door woke me up, Colby still asleep in my arms. I shifted out of bed, making sure Colby was still asleep. Then the door opened, and his dad's voice sounded throughout the house.
"Colby?" He croaked. I pattered down the stairs quietly and quickly.
"He's asleep," I said, meeting his dad down there.
"Oh ok. I'm guessing you know what happened then?" He asked.
"Yeah. Is he alright? Gage, I mean," I answered.
"He's better than what he was last night, but he's still in a really bad condition," he sighed, putting a hand on his forehead.
"Colby feels really guilty because he was meant to pick him up but refused.. I told him it's not his fault, obviously, it's the people who did it's fault, but he blames himself. I don't know what to do, I don't know if he still blames himself," I looked at him, hoping for advice.
"Colby's mental health can get really bad sometimes, I'm not sure if he's already told you that, but if you can, try your best to prevent that. Even if that's just keeping him happy, or taking his mind off of things. And now his brother's in hospital, his mental health is gonna go down really fast, especially with him blaming himself. So just try to get him to talk to you, stuff like that. Things that'll make him feel better," his dad nodded slowly. I nodded back and made my way back to the stairs, Colby stood behind the doorway.
"He-" he cut me off.
"Sorry I didn't tell you," He sniffled, more tears welling in his eyes.
"Didn't tell me what, baby?" I asked, putting my hands on his waist.
"Ab-bout my m-mental health," he said shakily. I put my arms around him and held him close to me.
"It's ok, it's ok," I spoke gently.
"P-Please don-n't hate m-me," he sniffled louder, clutching onto my jumper.
"Look at me," I moved away slightly and kept my hands on his waist. He nodded and wiped his eyes, looking at me.
"I could never hate you, never in a million years. I'm gonna look after you, and make sure you feel safe and loved, because that's what I'm here for. I love you, and I'm not gonna lose you due to your mental health. I'm gonna make sure you're ok," I kissed his forehead softly and he sniffled softly, a gentle smile appearing on his face. I wrapped my arms around him protectively and he squeezed me back.
"I'm not even gonna lie to you, that was the cutest thing I've ever seen," his dad chuckled, sitting down on the sofa. Me and Colby both laughed quietly, heading back upstairs."Do you wanna watch a film or something?" I asked.
"I wanna watch the new episode of Riverdale," he grabbed the remote from beside him, going onto Netflix.
"That made me cry," I laughed, putting an arm around him.
"If it made you cry then it's definitely gonna make me cry," he smiled softly and leaned into me.
"You ok? Do you need anything before you start watching it?" I asked, looking at him with a smile.
"Yeah, I'm ok, and could you get me another glass of orange juice please?" He asked.
"Yeah, of course," I stood up with a stretch, grabbing his glass he had used earlier. I ran downstairs quickly, going to the fridge and grabbing the OJ. I poured it into the glass and put it back in the fridge, going back up the stairs.
"There you go, baby," I passed him the glass.
"Thank you," He smiled, drinking from it. I sat back down next to him, Colby moving to sit in between my legs. I laughed and opened them a little, so he could sit comfortably.
"I love you," He mumbled, grabbing my hand.
"I love you too," I grinned, pulling his hand up and kissing it as I intertwined my fingers with his.~
I might actually start putting stuff here ya know? Also, deadass, I cried whilst watching the memorial for Luke Perry. I cried like a little bitch.
