"Annika I will cook for her, or the servants will do. Why are you taking the efforts?" Shivaay tried to convince his wife who was cooking for their guest. She had been working too hard for her studies the entire week and he really wanted her to rest today.
"No it's fine. I can do it and I really want to, maybe she start liking me a bit" Shivaay smiled at her innocence, he knew better. He knew that no matter what Annika does Tia won't appreciate it. He so wanted to tell her everything but at the same time didn't wanted to tame that child like innocence inside her that thinks anyone could forget all the hatred with good handmade food.
"What happened?" Annika asked as she made the dough for Missi Rotti while wiping a little amount of dough on her cheek at the same time trying to blow off the strand of hair on her face, the sight was indeed adorable for Shivaay.
"Nothing just thinking how lucky I am to have a wife like you" Annika looked at him a raised eyebrow "It should be my line. I am grateful that you chose me when no one would."
"Annika not again when will you stop underestimating yourself. Anyway leave that let me help you" he stepped forward but Annika refused.
"No I want to cook for your friend, maybe then she become my friend as well. Then she can tell me more about you and your college time." The excitement in her voice was evident and it somewhere dropped down Shivaay's heart thinking how disappointed she will be when she will get to know that Tia isn't one to befriend her. He knew Tia and her obsession with upper class people too well and Annika being his wife was just another thorn for Tia.
"Annika don't add onion, Tia is mildly allergic to onions" Shivaay informed when he saw Annika adding onion in the ingridents.
"Okay I will make separately for her." She replied focusing on her work and Shivaay focused on seeing her. The excitement with which she was cooking for Tia as if everything between them would just be sorted with delicious food was indeed adorable. She indeed was untouched by life!
The bell rang and he excused himself to open the door and greet Tia. "Heyy Tia" Shivaay forwarded his hand for a shake but Tia greeted him with air kisses "I hope your wife don't mind at least this form of greeting" Shivaay faked a smile before welcoming her inside.
He had no complains against this western form of greeting, he have complains against Tia's specific kisses that were way more closer to his lips than his cheeks. This Girl seriously can't take a hint!
"Where is Annika?" Tia asked looking around the house "She is cooking for you, trying to mend the relationship between you guys as your first meet wasn't so good everythough she wasn't at fault." His voice held sarcasm but either Tia didn't get it or she ignored it.
"You informed her I am allergic to onion, people of her class actually are too obsessed with spice and onions" Tia's voice was laced with degradation and Shivaay only knew how he controlled his temper, she was after all a guest.
"I have informed my wife Tia" Shivaay taunted and the look on Tia's face clearly showed that she got it but she refused to accept or acknowledge.
"Have a seat I'll call my wife" Shivaay focused on the word 'my wife' with a formal smile before moving toward kitchen ordering the servants to take care of Tia.
"Is it done Annika?" Annika nodded smiling eagerly, she was eager to get into good books of her husband's friend. Maybe they can just forget the past happening and be best friends. Also Tia can train her to be the perfect lady of Shivaay's class.
"Yes this one is separately for Tia totally free of onion and also less spicy. This one is for us." Shivaay smiled at her cheerful face and then ordering the servants to bring the food he held her hand taking her outside where Tia was waiting.
