When I arrived at the hospital, the sun was setting, giving off it beautiful colours of orange, yellow, red, pink, purple, and blue. I went inside the building and went up to the reception desk, told them I was here to visit Izuku, and then I made my way to his room.
Upon reaching it, my heart began to race with anticipation and joy. He'll wake up tonight. Kira's words echoed in my head so clearly, which gave me more confidence to open the door and walk inside.
I walked over to Deku's bed and pulled over a chair to sit down. I gently took a hold of Deku's hand and held it in both of mine. His complexion has gotten better since the night I admitted him here, as I donated my blood for the doctors to use for him. As such, his body warmth has gone back to normal.
I watched as his breathing tried to return to its homeostatic levels. He was probably having another nightmare, so I brought his hand to my lips and laid a small kiss to soothe his anxiety.
" It's alright, Deku, it's just a bad dream. Soon you won't have to withstand them. I'll be right here waiting for you."
I continued to sit there in my chair, soothing Deku whenever he had another small fit from a nightmare, and watching over him. Before I knew it, it was almost midnight. I felt as though what Kira told me was just something to ease my tensions, so with that in mind I let go of Deku's hand and stood up.
Just as I was about to turn and leave, I heard a voice.
" ... K-Kacc-Kacchan..."
My eyes bolted towards the origin of the voice, my heart pounding with anxiety and apprehension. I tried to formulate a response to his calling, but my mouth only opened and closed, unable to form any response.
" ... Kacchan... is that you?"
" Yeah... It's me, Deku..." I finally uttered a response.
I sat back down, on the bed this time, while keeping my gaze on the nerd. I suppose my mind was still trying to keep up since I noticed that my body had carefully brought Deku into an embrace of my own. I held him tightly in my arms, letting myself softly cry into his shoulder, while wearing a big smile of relief.
Eventually, I felt the nerd bring his arms up and wrap them around me, trying his best to squeeze in his own embrace. He was weak, and it was all because of Shigaraki. I'll be sure that guy gets sent to Tartarus if it's the last thing I do.
" Kacchan, I was so scared that evening... I was s-so scared..."
" Hey, hey. It's alright now, you're fine; we're fine. We'll get through this together, you and me." I softly cooed in order to sooth his rising anxiety attack.
I rubbed circles on his back, swaying us back and forth, whispering sweet nothings to calm him down. I could feel his rapid breathing slowly start to relax, and his strength slowly returned to him as well. As we sat there together on the bed, holding each other in our arms, Deku spoke up again.
" Do you think he'll try to hurt you again?"
" Who?"
" ... Shigaraki..."
" I can't say for certain, but I know he'll try again, but hey. I'm not going down that easily; I'll send him to Tartarus for all the crimes he's committed. For now, let's just live our lives how we want to together."
" That sounds very pleasant."
" Because it is, you nerd."
" Hey, that's mean."
" It'll take more than that to ruin your mood."
We both laughed and continued to talk before we fell asleep, after I had joined Deku in the bed.
I woke up early in the morning the next day and I didn't bother in trying to move anywhere, simply because I didn't have anywhere to go. The only place I need to be at is right at Deku's side. With this thought in my head, I carefully pulled him closer to me and inhaled his cinnamon-like scent. I stayed like this without him stirring awake for about an hour.
Deku had finally woken up, this time more active and himself, and was sharing all kinds of things with me from when he was little. I must say, he did look up to me with great admiration, yet I didn't realize that sooner and ended up hurting him through our childhood and through middle school. We changed the subject to more important matters, such as what we'd do as our next step in being together.
" Do you think the class figured out we're a thing?" Deku asked.
" Probably, and if not, then we'll host a party and tell them there."
" That sounds like fun! However, what do you think they'll think of us after we tell them?"
" Don't worry so much, you damn nerd. I could tell that day that they would accept us when they embraced us with open arms and wide smiles. They won't be ashamed of us, more like they'll be overjoyed that we've come this far."
" I guess you're right. I'll trust your word for it then. So, when are we going to have this party?"
" I was thinking on my birthday, since it's coming up in a few months from now."
" Alright, and I'll be sure to get you something for your birthday then." He giggled.
" I don't need anything. All I need is you, Izuku."
AN: Here's chapter twenty-five. I think the next chapter will be the last one for this fanfic, so expect a time skip to the day of their planned party cuz their conflicts are pretty much solved at this point. Also, the song I put is what inspired me to write how this chapter came out to be. Ik, the song is for like heartbreaks and stuff like that, but I like to look at the lyrics in a different light for this chapter ^\\\^ Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this chapter and I'll see you in the next one!!!
