What Was Lost - @Paranormal

The door creaked as I entered, the old bones of the hinges protesting their forced movement.

A thick dusty layer, broken only by pawprints of cats and rats, covered the floor. My own footprints vomited up small plumes that quickly settled, attempting to eradicate evidence of my passing.

Somehow, my destination was clear. I'd never been in the house previously, yet my legs knew their route. They had a purpose I could not contend.

The third bedroom was little more than a box with a window, empty except for one thing.

My body.

Who knew there'd be so much blood?
