The family

We stepped off the pelican and the woman walked up to us and I stepped ahead, I stepped ahead slightly and flicked one finger up signaling the team to 'wait a second' as they paused and I stopped in front of the lady

"Ahh you must be the new additions to our family, Hello I'm Lexi this is my husband Andrew, and our two daughters, Abby and Ellie." She said motioning to the people as she stated their names

"Nice to meet you finally, I'm Nick, this Is Jenna and Nick" I said and pointed to the Spartans standing behind him

"I know who you are, and yes I know you're Spartans incase you didn't know" she said and I nodded

"Follow me we're going home" she said and I couldn't help but crack a small smile when they turned around I made a hand gesture to tell the rest of my team to move up and they did exactly that as we followed the family...no..our family, to the car.

The car was fairly spacious considering it was holding 4 people and 3 Spartans, it was actually kinda cozy. Soft music was playing on the radio as Lexi and Andrew were talking to us , I was more focused looking out the window and admiring a planet that's not on fire or at risk of being glassed by the covenant, green leaves fading to reds, oranges, and yellows soon to die during the harsh winters on earth, it reminded me of training back in Onyx before the attack, before Lieutenant Ambrose was killed. When everything was peaceful.

I looked up snapping out of my thoughts as we stopped in the middle of the street

"Why did we stop in the middle of the street?" I asked with as much innocence I could muster, I don't know why i did that but I did

"We're at a stop light, didn't you learn that when you learned to drive?" Andrew asked

"No, we learned to get away from the enemy when we learned to driv-" my sentence was cut short when I heard my alarm now on a small tablet,

'Not in front of the girls' I thought as I turned it off

'I'll be fine for an hour' i figured, hoping I'd be right

"Nick was that for-"

"Yes" I said cutting Kyle off

"Ok" he said and we started moving again

15 minutes since my alarm, I started to get anxious
30 minutes I started tapping my foot impatient
40 minutes I'm loosing memory of what I'm doing, I think I fell quiet
50 minutes, I was almost completely out of it
Finally we made it back
I waited for them to show us to our shared room, it was large, with dark wood floors and white walls, it had three beds, a tv, a closet and dresser, finally to top it off, there was a large flag with the spartan insignia on it above the middle bed in which I claim to be mine. I place my stuff on my bed and open up the ruck

"Nick your kinda out of it, you need your smoothers soon" Kyle said as I was In the process of taking a smoother out.

"Yeah I think I see that" I said with a hard to miss pissed off voice

"Ok I'm sorry I didn't see you were on it" he said

Meanwhile outside of their room Lexi stood over hearing their conversation

'Smoothers? On it? Irritated voice, what are those kids doing' she thought as she sped away to tell Andrew

"Andrew, I'm worried about what the Spartans are doing, it seems like their either doing drugs, or they're doing something they're not telling us about" Lexi said

"Can you install security cameras when we go out to get them clothes, a small camera, easy to miss" She said and Andrew nodded

"Of course"

NICK POV

I injected the substance into my thigh and almost immediately like magic, I felt better, I wasn't anxious or on the verge of loosing control.

"Kyle, Nick, Jenna we're going shopping come on" Lexi said. I disposed of the empty injection, more like I put it into an empty box I had and shoved it into a drawer on the table behind my bed and we all walked downstairs to leave, all three girls were ready and headed out the door,

"Is Andrew coming?" Jenna asked

"No he's got some work to do unfortunately" Lexi said and Jenna nodded understandably, we filed into the car, me sitting in the front, Jenna and Kyle insisted I do such and finally I got a good look at the house,

It was a big two story, green that was lighter than an army green with white trim, it had large windows, a front porch, and a screened in pool, it has a lot of plants too, I wanna say it's a very beautiful one, though I've never seen one in such good condition, normally it's burning or nonexistent.

We pulled out of the drive way and started towards the store

"I know you guys will wanna work out, can I know your schedule Incase you start before I wake I don't freak out when I notice you were or are gone" Lexi asked I looked into the rear view mirror and saw Jenna talking to the girls who were gushing over her height and pronounced muscles

"Our schedule is normally when we feel like we wanna work out but normally it's 0430 hours is us running, 30 miles or more, then after that we would go to the gym if we're not already there and work on upper body and core strength, along with flexibility and more cardio" I said

"We normally finish by 0600" I finished

"Ok, do you normally run a treadmill or track" she asked

"Either is fine" I replied

"Alright thank you" Lexi said and smiles

"It's no problem" I said happily
