As soon as the elevator doors open I shuffle out and raise my hand to push open the swinging glass doors to the outside world. I see Nick's car parked on the street, as I head toward it I realize the keys are still in my purse. Not paying any attention to my surroundings at all, I look down and begin to dig through my purse, opening all the zippers and cramming my hand into every pocket I can find. Maybe if I was paying attention I would have seen the dark hooded figure emerge from the alleyway and begin to walk toward me at a rapid pace. Maybe I would have had a fighting chance or at least a second to scream for help if I had just glanced up for merely a second, but I didn't. The figure quickly came up behind me and slammed my head into the car door, I immediately crumble to the ground like a sack of flour, and just like that I'm knocked unconscious on the ground, the predator finally has captured his prey.
