Feng Lingxu, the son of the influential minister of finance, led an ill-fated life. Scorned by his family since birth for his frail body and lack of talent, he could only watch as his siblings rose to prominence. The only skill he had was his aptitude for writing poetry and literature, which, although looked down upon by his parents, was greatly welcomed in court.

At ten years of age, he entered the palace as an apprentice to a famous writer who wrote for the royal family. And not long after, he met the notorious second prince.

Chen Lin, the second son of the Emperor, led a tormented life. For as long as he remembered, he lived in the shadow of his elder brother, Chen Hui. He wasn't dense; he heard the hushed whispers of the court, the ministers who denied the many assassination attempts on him, the biased eyes of the world that clung onto him like chains.

The minister at the head of it all was Lingxu's father. Minister Feng was a greedy, calculating man, and he was the leader of the first prince's faction. He did anything it took to keep the second prince away from the throne, even sending him to the far reaches of the kingdom, to lead a helpless war against the savage mountain tribes.

But to the shock of all, Chen Lin came back victorious. He came back as emperor. Needless to say, every official that ever looked him the wrong way was immediately condemned to death, along with the rest of their family.

And on the bloody palace grounds, was where Chen Lin met Lingxu's eyes for the first time, his crimson stained sword at his throat...

This is my first time writing a BL story, so I have no idea how it will turn out. I do love reading my share of hot gay mangas and webcomics *winks* but writing is another matter. I've also only ever written from a girl's POV, so...I don't know. The good thing is, this is supposed to be shounen ai anyways. So the characters should be more feminine? Or at least the protag, because he's the bottom?

Well, anyways. Stay and read for some fun gay stuff taking place in ancient China. If that's not your cup of tea, feel free to leave anytime, no pressure.
