The Shadow Man

There once was a man

who lived in the forest,

He was very strange

and could change his appearance.

Some say he had blonde hair,

Some say he had black,

Some say that he's dangerous,

Some say that's a fact,

Some say he was human,

And some say he was not.

This is a tale of the man

That many forgot.

They say he has black eyes

And deadly sharp teeth,

And when he's coming for you

It's like hide and seek.

You better keep running,

Just stay out of sight.

He's the stalker behind you,

The hunter of the night.

He was built to be bad,

He was made for slaughter.

This is not a good tale

It's filled with horror.

At night in the forest

After the sun has set,

He'll hide as you walk by,

Your final regret,

Until it's too late

Because he is your death.

The final thing you see

As you draw last breath

Is a tall shadow with claws

And white eyes that shine,

And then you are no more,

The last of your life.

I think I've seen him before,

Once upon a time,

Or maybe that was only the forest

Playing tricks on my mind.

I saw his tall shadow

And white glowing eyes,

I tried to run from him,

Afraid of his bite.

He chased me so far

Through the forest we ran,

He nearly caught up

But I had a plan.

I hid deep in the trees

But it was very close.

How did his claws miss me?

I don't want to know.

I escaped that night

From the man in the woods,

And I hope that he

Is now gone for good.

But sometimes I hear

A scraping at my door,

And at night I hear footsteps

Creep across my floor.

I think he might be here

Underneath my bed,

I think that he's hunting,

I think he wants me dead.

I still feel him near,

He's very angry,

So if I one day disappear

Then you know that he got me.
