A long time ago
There lived a man in the forest,
He was handsome and clever
And lived in a place not so horrid.
He had gardens and fountains
And a beautiful house,
He lived by a river alone
For he had no spouse.
Indeed, one thing that
Would complete this man's life
Is if he one day found
A beautiful wife.
But the man was ancient
And so very old,
He looked very young
But was born long ago.
The secret to this
No one he would tell,
But upon the garden flowers
There was a spell.
The spell kept him youthful
And kept him from coffins,
So long as he ate fruits
From those gardens often.
One day he was walking the streets
Of a village nearby,
When a beautiful young lady
At a store caught his eye.
Never had he seen
A maiden so fair,
She had large green eyes
And beautiful red hair.
Her skin was as smooth
As the glass from a vase,
And she carried herself
With elegance and grace.
She was the one
The man had waited for,
The girl of his dreams
That he had never known before.
He talked to her then,
In his charming way
In hopes that her heart
