Ch.40

-Annabeth's POV-

What the Hades! I mean really, first your boyfriends friend insults you, then you boyfriend doesn't defend you, and then your boyfriend gets mad at you for defending yourself! The only explanation I had was that he didn't hear what Elise said and only started tuning in when I started to speak, but STILL! I am so mad at him.
Oh who am I kidding, I'm not mad at him I'm mad at Elise for starting this all. I miss Percy (even if it has been only 4 hours). 'RING!!!' Oh that must be them!

- Piper's POV -

Oh my GODS, he was clueless! Do you want to know what Percy just did? Hmm, well let's start with... Hurting his girlfriends feelings, being seen comforting another girl that obviously was in love with him, and then he invites her over to our house to look for his girlfriend and drives Elise there! What. the. Hades.

- Annabeth's POV -

As I heat the bell I leap off my bed rustling the diagrams around me I was working on for a new statue of Demeter that she had requested for Olympus, and yes I was still designing it. I mean a millennia of work was destroyed I couldn't just rebuild it all in a year. I glanced in the mirror and swept my hair back up into a ponytail and straightened my shirt.

"Hello!" a voice yelled from down stairs. I raced down the steps and walked up to Percy.

"I'm so sorry-" and that was when I looked behind Percy to see Elise standing there with a evil smirk on her face. "that your a jerk." I finished as I ran back up to my room.

- Percy's POV -

Why was she mad at me! She was the one that was going around insulting my friends. She needed to get a hold on her anger because she really hurt Elise's feelings. In fact she needed to apologize to Elise. I showed Elise the kitchen and told her to make herself at home. I got in the elevator and was soon knocking on Annabeth's door. Before I could even knock a second time the door opened.

"We need to talk," said an expressionless Annabeth. She led me out on to the roof. "Why didnt you defend me?!" She asked in a angry and hurt voice.

"Defend you? From what? Elise is just trying to be your friend and you started insulting her! You know it's been hard for my mortal friends. We were all really good friends and then in the course if 1 week I barely even had time to talk to them!" I replied, my voice starting to rise at the end.

"Oh come on. You are so big headed, and not to mention dense," she spat shoving my chest a little," Elise doesn't want to be your friend! She's in love with you!" She angrily shouted, "And I'm sorry that I have been getting in the way of your friendship, I mean the world does revolve around you," she finished sarcastically.

"Oh grow up Annabeth! Elise isn't in love with me, and I-" but I was cut off by Annabeth.

"Did you even hear what she said to me?"

"She didn't say anything to you! In fact you ow her an apology for the way you treated her!" Annabeth's eyes started glistening.

"You know what fine." she said as her voice quivered, but before she left she shoved something into my chest and I grabbed whatever it was before it hit the ground. When I opened up my hand the promise ring I gave to Annabeth lay in the palm of my hand. I rushed downstairs to see Annabeth facing Elise saying

"I'm so sorry for the way I treated you." and as she spun around and started rushing up the stairs I saw a tear drip off he cheek. What had I done?
