I never knew my life could change in one instant. I never thought I'd hear 'you have Leukemia.' I never thought I'd live in a hospital room rather than being at home and having sleepovers. I'm 18 years old and I have Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia.
Acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL), also called Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and Acute Lymphoid Leukemia, is a blood cancer that results when abnormal white blood cells (leukemia cells) accumulate in the bone marrow. I know, a lot of information and words you may not recognize, but I assure you that you will know these terms by the time I am done with telling my story.
