I was born in Pakistan and when I was born in this particular nation, God planted the love of cricket within me. That is my theory for every Pakistani born on this planet and that is what I will always stick with. Cricket maybe counted as a mere sport in minds of most of the people but only we know that it is much, much more than that. Cricket is not just hitting a ball with a bat or striking boundaries or taking wickets to us, It's the index finger of Shahid Afridi raised in the air, it's the "not always" victorious screams of Karman Akmal behind the wicket, it's the spins of Saeed Ajmal that leave batsman speechless, it's the balls of Umar gul with faces that will make you laugh out loud, it's the gathering of people in front of big screens throughout the country, it's the emptiness of markets and public places, it's the fireworks after victory, it's the hugs and tears, it's the screams and the shrieks, and oh its just so much more, just so much more. Words can't even begin to describe our love for cricket neither the unity that it creates between us. Only a Pakistani knows the passion for cricket. When everyone watches cricket, enemies are forgotten, worries are lost in the excitement, sadness is eradicated, responsibilities are momentarily wiped from the mind and only two things remain, passion and unity. And when our team faces defeat, you can't even begin to understand the dept of the depression wave that washes over our country but when our team wins the whole nation erupts like a class of little children just dismissed. The festivity created is more festive than any traditional festival. The smiles, the congratulations, the hugs, the love and unity growing deeper are what we experience. People living in Pakistan face problems no other nation faces in count as well as in type but a single game of cricket wipes all those worries away momentarily and that moment is worth everything and anything. I will just end this by writing that to me and all Pakistanis, CRICKET IS ALL, and ALL IS CRICKET! Jiay Pakistan and jiay cricket!!!! :D :P
