Elsie closed the door and let a dreamy sigh as she made her way into her vacation getaway. She carried her shopping bags into the kitchen only to be confronted by her mother. Her mother immediately began asking her questions," How was your date? How did it go? Was he gentleman? Did he buy you dinner, if not I whipped up some sandwiches and-." Elsie began ignoring her mother's questions as she sat her shopping bags on the counter. Soon another quick knock came to her door. She quickly ran to the door only to be met with Watson once again. He held an armful of firewood and said," I almost forgot your wood again, Els." Elsie opened the door for him with a small giggle. He carried them over to the wood box as her mother came from the kitchen with a look of disappointment on her face. Elsie rolled her eyes and as she walked him back to the door. He gave her a quick chaste kiss and a quick goodbye before heading back out to his truck. Elsie shut the door and only for her mother to be standing right in front of her with her arms crossed. Elsie rolled her eyes as she said," Your dating the groundskeeper?! Of all people to date! Doctors, lawyers, teacher! And you chose a groundskeeper." Elsie stepped around her mother towards her bedroom as he mother followed her. Her mother let out a growl and said,"How on earth do you expect a groundskeeper to provide for you if you're pregnant and taking care of another little one. Besides you're on vacation, this little fling wont last." Elsie quickly looked to her mother and looked to the living room to find her luggage still unpacked. She went to the suitcase and said," You're right. I'm on vacation. I came here to get away and write my book. I came to het away from my stress and the woman causing ninety percent of it. Everytime I see you, you remind that I haven't gave any grandchildren like my brother and that I'm not married. Well guess what mom, I'm tired of it all. I'm tired of you pestering me to get married and have a kid. I'm just not ready, mom. And who gives a flying crap that Watson is a groundskeeper. He's sweet, kind, and sexy. And if it were to grow serious, maybe I'd stay instead of going back just to have my mother pester me about children and my internal clock." Her mother gasped as tears gathered in her eyes. Elsie placed her mom's luggage by the door and said," In the morning I'll drive you into town and we'll figure out your flight and everything. I went on this vacation for a reason, mom. I wanted time to myself, to think and to write. I'm sorry I blew up on you but you are not going to pester me anymore. I can't and won't take it anymore. You can sleep in the bedroom and I'll take the couch in here." Her mother scoffed and stomped her way into Elsie's bedroom. Elsie slipped of her boots and let her down. She made her way into the kitchen and grabbed a beer from the fridge. She popped off the top and made her way back to the living room. She sat on the couch and propped her feet up on the coffee table. She took a sip and let out a long sigh. She couldn't help but smile because she had finally let go of something she'd been holding onto for years.

Elsie woke up the next morning with a crick in her neck and want for a fresh cup of coffee. She went into the kitchen only to find her mother making herself a cup of tea. Her mother looked to her and said," I know you're mad at me but hear me out. The reasons why I've pestered you was because I only want you happy. Everything that happened with Derek and the way you were after it just worried me. I've already called the airline and got my flight home scheduled for noon today. You can't stop from being a mom and worrying about your babies." Elsie went to her mother's side and gave her a hug. Elsie sighed and said," Just please don't bring up my internal clock again and we'll be just fine." Her mom chuckled and pulled away to pour them both a cup of tea. A loud knock drew both their attention to the front door. Elsie went to the door and opened it to find Watson with a grim look on his face. Watson sighed and said," Can I talk to you for a moment?" Elsie nodded and stepped out on the stoop with him and shut the door behind her. Watson frowned and said," You left your phone in my truck last night. Why didn't you tell me you were with someone?" He crossed his arms and gave her a dirty look. Elsie gave him a look of confusion as he rolled his eyes and handed her her phone. He pressed the home screen to find Elsie hugging a very tall man as he very lovingly hugged her back. Elsie couldn't help but giggle as she said,"That's my publisher, George, and he's very gay. Him and his husband, Todd, are very much in love. But he's best friend, I don't know what I'd do without him." Watson's eyes grew in realization making Elsie let out another giggle. Elsie playfully smacked his shoulder and said," Why you jealous or something?" Watson rolled his eyes as he visibly relaxed. Watson smiled and said," As a matter of fact, I was. I thought the woman I was seeing was with a another bloke." Elsie just nodded as he took her hand in his. Elsie smiled up to him as he said," How about I make up to you over dinner tonight. What do ya' say, we make dinner together tonight at my place?" Elsie smiled and nodded before giving him a quick kiss. Watson gave her a wide smile as he pulled away, knowing he had to get to work. He caressed her cheek and said," I'll pick you up at seven." Elsie just nodded as he gave her another quick kiss before he ran off to his truck. She waved to him as he drove off and couldn't wait till tonight.
