"Where are you going?" Will asked from my door way.
I rolled my eyes and kept packing, never turning to look at him. "To Gee's." Gee had agreed to cover for me for the night.
"Why are you upset, Mary?"
I threw the shirt I was packing on the ground and turned to him. "Take a guess, William."
"Is it because I kicked George out. Why would you care? You hated him."
I sighed. "No Will. I love him. I have for a while. You knew that. I know someone told you. You kicked him out because you're back to playing the protective older brother. I'm not a child anymore Will. I'm an adult. I can make decisions, but you don't want me to see him. Fine, I won't. But it is your fault I'm going through this heartbreak. That's on you."
He frowned. "I was doing it to protect you. George is just going to use you for sex and then leave you. He won't take care of you. He won't love you. He's just wanting another shag and then he's going to drop you."
"If he does then that's my thing to deal with. You can't control my life forever. I'm not going to let you. I'm so tired of it. You've done it my entire life. Sometimes I loved it when you protected me, but now I just kind of despise you for it. You're a controlling asshole."
"You're not going out tonight."
I laughed at his audacity. "I'm doing whatever I damn well please. You cannot stop me."
