Chapter 24

We left Regna Ferox to assault King Garon directly.

We knew it was a difficult task after the fight of the day before, but we couldn't afford to lose time.

Me:"Chrom, do we have a plan?"

Chrom:"We'll attack along the army guided by Khan Flavia. During the battle, we'll break in and face Garon."

Me:"Hm, it's a good strategy but-gh!"

I suddendly felt a painful itch at my eye and I put a hand on it.

Chrom:"Hey, are you all right!?"

Tharja:"It's the eye again? I thought I fixed it already."

Lissa:"Uh, do you want me to cast an healing on you?"

I raised the other hand to stop her.

Me:"Don't. You don't need to waste energy. I'll be fine."

Frederick:"...Very well. But please do not force yourself. You must be in good shape for the battle."

Me:"I'll be fine. Just give me time."

Although it was annoying, I really couldn't explain why it hurt so much.

I gave a look at the bullets, and they seemed made of gold.

Of course now I know what they are, and just to tell you, they don't hurt me anymore.

Well, at least no more than simple bullets.

Anyway, at some point of the road, we found a group of people discussing.

Sully:"Ah, now what? We always find troubles wherever we are!"

Vaike:"Well, if you ask me-"

Sully:"I didn't, so shut your mouth!"

Vaike:"He-Hey! There's no need to be so rude."

Me:"Just shut up, you two."

We got close to the people, who seemed to be a group of merchants and Chrom stepped in.

Chrom:"What's wrong?"

Merchant:"Oh! Sirs, please! Help her! A young merchant girl is being set upon by bandits!"

Chrom:"We're on our way."

We reached the zone and we had some trouble.

The ground  was full of rest of houses, used by the bandits to hide and attack from far.

Virion:"It appears this might be my time to shine."

Gaius:"Don't worry about the closed door. Just give me space and they'll open up."

Cordelia:"Sumia, shall we cooperate for this?"

Sumia:"Oh, uhm, I'll do my best!"

Before anyone could go, Chrom gave a last order.

Chrom:"Remember we're here to save a girl. Once you see her, take her away."

Everyone:"Roger!"

Me:"You know...I'll go with you."

Chrom:"Are you sure to transform now? The eye..."

Me:"That's why I need movement."

Chrom:"Fine, but you'll come with me."

Tharja:"I'll tag along. You might need a hand."

Me:"...Is it necessary?"

Chrom/Tharja:"Yes."
