The truth about me

"Today is the day!" I say to myself while looking into the mirror inside of my bathroom. A nervous smile on my face as I start to think of all the things that could go wrong. 'No' I thought inside of my head. I need to calm down" I think as I try to resure myself. I stare at myself in the mirror before sighing. 'Today is the day that I tell Lucy I'm gay.'

As I walk to school listening to music
I get a text from my older sister asking if today was the day that I tell my bestfriend and crush that I was gay. I hesitated but then repay with a simple 'yes' before turning off my music and shoving my phone in my pocket quickly walking into the school and going to my homeroom classroom, there I see Lucy reading a book. I quickly sit down in the chair next to her, the sound of the chair moving catching her attention as she looks up at me with those big brown eyes that I love so much. When she sees me she smiles a big friendly smile. "Hey Alex!" She said excitedly while putting her book down. "Hey Lucy!" I say with excitement in my voice too. "Hey, I was wondering if at lunch you could meet me in the library, I wanted to talk to you about something" She thinks for a moment before saying that she'll be there. "Great! Thanks Lucy!" I say before sitting down in the chair beside her. She goes back to her book so I decided to read too. Just then the bell rings signaling that homeroom is over. 'Crap' I thought disappointed. I put the book in my backpack as Lucy does the same. After we're done doing that we hug and say goodbye to each other. When we part ways I head to my history class and take my seat in the back.

Time skip~

When lunch time rolls around I head to the library to meet Lucy. I go to the table in the back where we usually sit waiting for her to show. A couple of minutes pass and I see her heading to where I'm sited. I wave to her and smile a nervous smile. " Hi Alex!" Lucy  said as she sat in the chair next to me. "So what did you wanted to talk to me about?" She said curiously. "I've been meaning to tell you something about me that I been keeping a secret from you for a long time." " And what might that be?" I look in her eyes and say the words that I been dying to say for the longest time. "I'm gay."

It takes her a minute to realize what I just said before smiling like a crazy person. Seeing her smiling makes me hope that she won't be disgusted with me and leave me as a friend. "I'm so happy to hear that because.... I like girls too." She said in a quiet tone. Hearing that news makes me smile too. A bit bigger than hers, but can you blame me, I just found out that the girl I love likes girls too.

I take her hands in mine and give her a  gentle loveing squeeze. " I love you Lucy." She looks like she'll cry at any second. "I love you too Alex."

I'm so glad that she knows the truth about me, but besides that... nothing can ruin this moment for us.

I wonder if this is too long for a short story.... well who cares.
