Alice ~POV~

'I wonder why dad always goes in the garden.' I think as I look out the window from my bedroom watching him sitting in front of the flower bed that isn't somehow dead yet. He would go and sit in the garden and just look at the flowers for hours. 'I think that he goes in the garden because he misses mom.' I can't blame him though, I do too.

Ever since she died dad hasn't been the same. He doesn't smile and he always has dull eyes. It scares me to say the least. He goes in the garden and looks at the flowers that mom made. She loved flowers and she wanted to grow her own.

I stare at dad and remember how we were once a perfect family. I then decided in that moment to go in the garden and talk to him.

When I reached the garden dad was still looking at the flowers mom had grown. "Hey dad." I say to him hoping that he would respond to me. He looks at me and then starts talking.  "You know Alice... your mom favorite flower were Forget me not flowers."

I stare at him. This is the first time he talked about mom after her passing. I smile and nodded my head to him. "I think they're beautiful." I say to dad trying to keep the conversation going for as long as possible.

I stare back at the flowers before talking again. "I miss her." Dad says nothing for a while then speaks up. "I do to Alice.... and I know we can get over it." I look back at my dad I for a while I couldn't think. I start to cry and soon dad does too. I lean closer to him and hug him. He embraced me as we both cry our sadness out.

I look back at the flowers and for a second, I can picture mom in the garden with a packet of Forget me not flowers seeds in her hand smiling at me telling me  how pretty they'll be when they grow. I look at the blue flowers with love.

The Forget me not flowers are so beautiful mom. You would have loved to see them.
