Hidden Power

Chapter 4

I looked up from my burger and felt a sharp pang on my wrist. I gasped and clutched them, trying to ease the pain.

Josef looked up. In a split second, I was in his arms and he and Mike were running out of the food court. I wanted to scream. It hurt so much, what the hell is going on?! I thought. The moment I finished the thought I screamed. The space between my shoulder blades were on fire. It took me longer then it should have for me to realize it was all my marks that hurt.

"JoJo...." I managed to say

"It's ok Rex. Everything's gonna be ok" He gasped

We stopped at the car and Mikie opened the trunk and pulled out 3 gallons of water. I wanted to ask what they were for but the second I opened my mouth I screamed. 

Josef layed me on the grass and poored water on my back. Instantly the pain increased. I screamed louder.

"Wait..." Mike whispered. He glanced at my back and then my wrists. He gasped "Jo! Fire and water are opisite elements. We cant just pour water on her or her wrist with burn even worse. And we cant just put a lit match on her wrist cause her back with burn as well"

Jo stared at him. His eyes widened "Of course...." He lit a match and plucked the fire- wait what?! He PLUCKED the fire off the match! And he held the gallon of water in his other hand.

Mike took the gallon from Josef and poured it on my back as Jo seperated the fire in two. My wrist exploded with pain but Jo brought the flame on my wrist. I braced for more pain but none came. For the first time in my life I was at total and complete peace. It was so soothing I closed my eyes and drifted to sleep....

I woke up in Mike's house. I sat up with a jolt.

"Hey sleepy-head" I turn around and Mikie's brother Luke was laying with me. The guy I actually had a crush on. He's 17 and he surprisingly for some reason has a crush on me too.

I loosed up once I reconized him and layed but back down with my head on his chest and his arms around me.

"They told you about your marks huh..." he asked

I stared at my wrist "Yeah... they did... Hey Luke? What's your mark?"

"You wanna see it?" 

"Mhmm"

He took off his shirt and rolled over. I gasped. It was three water drops in the same place as mine.

"Luke! Look at mine" I took off my plaid shirt and showed him my back. "Look Luke I have it in the same place"

He trace the drops with his fingers "Woah T-Rex.... You have two marks?"

"Well technically three but yes, yes i do" I fix my blue under shirt and roll over and snuggle up with him. He turned on the T.V and we watched a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles marathon. 

"Hey Rex?" Luke asked

"Hm?" I looked up at him. Why does he have to be a full head taller than me?

"What happened to your hair?"

I sat up "What do you mean?"

"I mean that instead of purple and blue, it's red and blue"

"What?!" I shrieked
