"You'll have your first national game, at the world cup. Do you feel prepared?"
"Uh-" Jill pats my back for support as I'm about to answer the question I'm asked by the press I'm in. I'm the youngest player on the team, and they demanded to ask me questions. Coming back from injuries and not having played in any national games, makes everyone curious and intrested in why the hell would Jill call me in on the roster. Her decision, and releasing the 2015 World Cup roster, made people question her position as a coach.. because of me.
"I'm fully prepared, and I'm very thankful for this amazing opportunity that Jill has given me. We have talked about what is needed from me for this World Cup. Jill had me working on everything I need to exceed for the team"
I hear the clicking of photos being taken, and I tried to keep my eyes open as the lights shine strongly on me.
"How is the dynamic of the team with her? Are you planning on starting her fully?" They question directly to Jill, I just stare at the cameras and reach over to my cup of water and drink from it. It's getting hot under these lights.
"She has a lot of chemistry with the team, in different line ups. We worked on it with her, she's doing really great so far. I am planning on giving her the time she deserves, and when we need her. She brings a different rhythm wherever we put her. She's going to be a good one for us"
After a few more questions, and what feels like hours. We're finally leaving the press conference, and I get up from my chair and follow Jill out the room. Our staff leads us to the Van we rented out for these kind of purposes. I hop on before Jill and they close the door, and we're on our way to the hotel.
"You did great today, I know a lot of this hasn't been easy" Jill speaks up for the first time since we left the conference. I was staring out the window, and turn to face her.
"Comes with the job" I tell her nonchalantly and uninterested to talk. She takes notice and pats my back. Saying nothing else, staff in the back doing media work and discussing. I stare out the window, and just can't wait to go back to the hotel and relax. I've been doing media all day long.
Walking into the room I'm sharing with with Tobin, going straight to the bed. I jump on it, I sigh in pleasure as my face hits the mattress. It's our day off, I and a few others had to cover in media but everyone else had an easy day. Tobin isn't in the room, and I'm sure it's because it's team bonding night. A day I sometimes participate in, and tonight isn't one of those nights. As I was about to crawl to the pillows and finally lay properly, I hear a few girls walk into the room.
"Nope, your coming with us" I hear Julie and Kling shout in the room. I groan because I'm 100% sure I'm going to be carried out of this room and thrown into truth and dare with our mechivious teammates. Well I was right, Julie graps my upper body while Kling graps my lower body. I'm being carried out of my room, and what do you know.. odds aren't in my favor. Julie walks to fast for Kling, and she goes to the side and my ribs hit the doorway.
"Oops" Kling chuckles out, I just groan in pain.
"Press is going to kick your ass" Julie comments making Kling sigh. I just prepare myself for whatever may come next, hopefully making it to the other room without a concussion. When we get there, Julie uses my hand to knock on the door, and as we wait. A few guests of the hotel walk by us, looking at us weirdly.
"Help, I'm being kidnapped!" I lightly shout to the guests, and they just keep walking. Wow if I really was being kidnapped, they wouldn't stop and help? Rude.
"That was part of our staff goofball" Kling laughs out. I scoff in annoyance, but blush. I didn't know they were staff, great I must have looked like an idiot. Finally the door opens, and we walk in into the crowded room. They lay me in the arms of Chris and my lower body on Abby. I look up to Chris
"I didn't want to be here, and they held me up agaisnt my will. Oh and Kling is to blame for my ribs." I tell her, and I get smacked on the shoulder from no one other then Kling. Who earns a glare from Christen.
"Alright Blaise, Truth or dare?" Tobin asks me, great. I knew this was the game they were playing. Who am I to choose truth? I ain't a wuss. Well maybe this game with this team, probably will.
"Dare"
"I dare you to be in the closet with Kelly for 10 mins" Abby calls out, and I choke on the air I had just inhaled. I know what they're playing at. I look at Kelly, and she just shrugs smirking. The hold I was in with Christen tightens, and I look up to her so she can let me go. Once I'm up, Kelly and I walk to the hotel closet. Kling closes the door on us, and now its pitched black. I'm taller then Kelly so I'm just staring down on her from the position I saw her in before the door was closed.
"So uh, we got 10 mins to spare. What do you think we should?"
"Well for starters, I'm not going to kiss you. Don't get any ideas, I know I'm hard to resist" she tells me causing me to laugh. She scoffs at me but carries on.
"I know Press and you have something going on, and I'm not that kind of person to ruin something like that. Especially the girls on this team, we wouldn't do that."
"Thank you"
"But I'll kick your ass if you hurt Christen, she's such an amazing person. She won't hurt you but I will" Kelly demands sternly, I'm not scared of her or anyone on this team but I totally respect her for threatening me. If it was the other way around, I'd be doing the same.. heartbroken but doing the same. Not even 4 mins, and the door opens rather quickly and forcefully. Christen with a furious look on her, and Kelly puts her hands up in defense.
"She used tongue" I tell Chris, and Kelly punches the back of my shoulder. She shakes her head no frantically from the angry look on Chris. Kelly moves towards Hope, for protection of course.
"So she did use tongue?" Tobin asks surprised, and it makes all the other girls laugh. Abby face palms and she chuckles.
"It was to get Chris jealous, and get them to finally be officially together" she speaks out playing matchmaker. Few of the girls being oblivious breaks into Oh's.
"I like you Christen, and you know uh about a min ago Kelly kissed me. And you know how hard it is to resist her." I tell her teasingly, and she just closes her eyes in frustration. I'm messing with but she seems to take it seriously until she sees the grin forming on my face. She lightly slaps my shoulder.
"I'm joking Chris, I really really like you. We both know that, and Abby's right. We should be official official. I'd like to take you out on a date if you'll just say.. yes?" I say with hope. The rooms quiet and everyones listening on what her answer will be, and I see everyone eyes in sympathy.
"Yes, I would love to go on a date with you. I want you to be officially mine, and I know you want that too."
