Construction Exercise

Write a poem in which you literally build or take apart something for the reader. Describe each step of the process for the reader, incorporating technical terms and descriptions of materials. Create a lyric or narrative poem that “shows” the reader how it’s done.

You pick up the pen,

Reluctantly.

Your hands tremble but you are determined,

–despite you’re reservations.

A stroke is made,

Black and alarming against the white, colourless expanse.

A wide smile spreads itself across your face,

‘Progress!’ you mutter.

This is when you look up at me,

Once beaming face unsure.

‘Can I stop now?’

(This is a exercise I found on the internet, it's pretty fun! :) )
