There had never been a time when Boruto wished his mother was not at home. Until now, that was. Hinata and Himawari were half the whole time arguing and when Kushina joined, it was chaos. Menma and Minato would try their best to calm the tension down which did little to no good. Boruto, however, took the best distance he could take from Anma's family. At times just like this time, he would just shut the door to his room and lay flat on his bed with his head under the pillow. It was the third day ever since they arrived but there was no lead they can take.

There was a knock on the door.

"Come in." Boruto's muffled reply came as he brought his head out of the pillow. The door opened to reveal Menma with an apologetic look. This, however, Boruto thought, was the best difference. Fake or not, his father took his time paying attention to him.

"I'm sorry, Anma." He began as he sat on the side of the bed. "About your mom and your sister."

"It's alright. It's not your fault."

"Well... Just know that just because they argue a lot, doesn't mean your mother doesn't love your sister, if that's what your thinking."

Precisely. That was exactly what Boruto now thought. If Menma needed to tell him that, he pursed his lips at how distant Hinata and Himawari actually were.

"No..." Boruto replied instead. "I was just wondering if..." He trailed off. "Hey, dad ?"

"Yea ?"

"Have you ever thought of becoming the Hokage ?"

"Eh ? The Hokage ? What brings this up ?"

"Well, nothing. Just wondering."

"Hmm. The Hokage... I once thought about it too, when I was young. But it's just not for me. I have a family to take care of, and considering how busy Sakura-chan is, I don't think I'd have time for you guys. I don't want that."

Boruto's heart thumped against its rib cage. Has his own father, Naruto, ever thought about it that way ? Tears threatened to fall from his eyes. Menma noticed and asked worriedly,

"Did I say something wrong ? What's wrong ? Why are you crying ??"

The Uzumaki frantically rubbed his eyes with his sleeves. Of all the things which could make him cry, he did not think this would be one : just those simple words from his fake father. "It's nothing." He shook his head. "Just...dusts."

He was sure that Menma did not buy it. But thankfully, he didn't push. Boruto went on, knowing that this was his time to uncover some clues.

"That Tailed Beast in you... Are you good friends with him ?"

"You mean Kurama ? Yea. People often say that he's dangerous but really, he's just a huge softie."

"Hah. Seriously ?"

"Yup. Haha ! Kurama, don't be shy."

Boruto didn't question. His own father often spoke out loud to Kurama unknowingly. Boruto freaked out when he first saw his father having a conversation with the air.

"Hey dad ?"

"Yea ?"

"Can we spar, like, right now ?"

"Eh ??" Menma's eyes sparkled. "Are you serious ? You want a spar ?"

"...um, if that's fine ?"

"Of course, son ! It's just... Isn't this the first time you ever ask for a fight ? My boy's growing up !"

Boruto awkwardly chuckled. He heard from Sarada that Shisui had said that Anma was a slacker but up to this point ?? He wanted to give this world's him a piece of his mind.
